hiphopshowfliermay31

What a great weekend this is turning out to be! The official Levitt AMP Springfield Music Series had their kickoff last night which seemed like it was a great success, and we also have a pretty packed show next door to us. Tonight is the first ever hip hop show at the new “Bread Jammers” right next door to Dumb Records. Tonight at the top of the bill is Deezy Da Paperboy, very hard working rapper from these parts who is constantly putting out new music. Check out some of his stuff streaming on the player below. We’ve also got Cornbread – who’s been around doing his thing for a long time too – even since the early Bread Stretchers days. Then we got a few newer up and coming artists, including “DZY“. Also Otto San – who performed at Radon Lounge back in March. Then we’ve got “Bummygod” – younger artist who had performed at Black Sheep at one of our final shows there. And we’ve got Yung Pey opening things up!

This all starts at 7:00 pm and admission is $5. Check out a facebook event for the show right here. Also be sure to check out our Bread Stretchers shows page for a look at what is coming up in coming months.

Tonight at Just Breads: Carly Beth, No Cash Value, Blushe, Dexter, Jessica Knight

Come onnnnn down to Just Breads™ tonight (right next to us) because we’ve got a good one cookin’ up. Apparently this is the last ever ever show for Jacksonville’s last chosen Black Sheep era punks to lead us all into the future – No Cash Value. The out of town act on this bill is a new group from Champaign/Urbana called “Carly Beth” which features members of Nectar, La Louve, and other C-U area bands. Also on this show is new-ish Springfield group Blushe. Opening things up looks like we have solo performances by both Jessica Knight and Dexter Anodyne.

All of this starts at 7:00 pm and admission is $5. Check out a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our Just Breads Stretchers shows page for a nice look at what is coming up there.

Tonight at Bread Sheep: Stick People, Hollywood Horses, Master Bastard, The Little Death

We welcome the return of Stick People from Taylorville, (who did play there last on Record Store Day last month)! Tonight Stick People are bringing in a big touring act and that is Hollywood Horses from Birmingham, Alabama! Stream one of their songs on the player below. We also have a couple more local acts taking the Bread Stretcher stage for the first time. This includes hard rock grunge group Master Bastard. And opening things up is the alternative / indie-rock group The Little Death.

That’s the show! This starts at 7:00 pm and admission is $5. Check out a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our Bread Stretchers shows page for a look at what else we’ve got coming up these next few months.

New Band Pages: MAC, Kenyon DeShasier

46777662_440950323103403_7885105358937522176_o

Would you believe it but the other day we looked over and realized how terribly not-up-to-date all of the band pages on our site are right now. There are tons of new band projects that have started that we don’t have pages for, and a lot of them we do have pages for aren’t exactly up to date! We are working on it – today bringing you two new band pages that aren’t anything too fancy for local acts MAC and Kenyon DeShasier – both have been playing shows in the area for over a year at this point. On each page you can stream music from both and find links to where else you can find them on the world wide web.

We count 38 current band pages we have on our site right now which is no where near being up to date. We’ll be working on getting this updated these next few weeks! Do you play in a band here in town or are you a solo musician that hasn’t set up a band page with us yet? We would love to hear from you – email us at dumbrecs@gmail.com and we will work with you to set something up!
