We’ve had our grand opening – now let’s look at what other things are popping up that are cool in our new downtown home area! Our friends from over at The Pharmacy Art Gallery have also announced a big move to a new downtown location and they have been working on their new space even longer than we have! The new space is located at 623 E. Adams Street, right next door to Recycled Records (also our friends). After months of working hard on their new space they are finally ready for their grand opening and first art show with “Vision” happening Friday and Saturday, March 22nd and 23rd from 6:00 to 9:00 pm both nights.

Find a facebook event for the art show right here. The event of course is all ages and donation based. We’ll have this one and other upcoming Pharmacy art shows listed on our Springfield shows page.

Black Sheep is closing its doors at the end of the month and we wanted to be sure to squeeze one more art event in before it’s all over! (Or at least until we are moved into a downtown space next year). Fun! This one is happening tonight! Starting at 6:00pm. Come out and bring painting close if you want to add to a giant canvas that everyone is going to paint on. There will also be musical acts. This includes Eric Marvel, whose music you can find streaming below. This also includes Imaginary Colours – electronic act that has three releases in the running for our Best of Springfield Music 2018 Poll. Layers will be performing as well – the local two-piece spoken word and guitar act. Glower will be performing as well, the only full band on the bill. Opening up it looks like we have “Neala” the solo project of Kristin Walker.

This event starts a little bit earlier at 6:00pm. Bring $5. Check out a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page to take a look at everything lined up from now until we are gone at the end of this month.

Us at Black Sheep teaming up with The Pharmacy Gallery back in early January for “Collision” ended up being a huge success. The event was set up with the idea that we would also team up for another art show later on at The Black Sheep. Well, here we are and Collision #2 is happening in a little over a week with a showing from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Saturday, May 12th! Art will be on display inside Black Sheep, but also inside Dumb Records and Skank Skates as well.

There is also an open call for art to be submitted to be on display inside Dumb Records – paintings the same size as album artwork (12″x12″) or (7″x7″) to be on the walls of the record store.

The event will be happening from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm, with live music at some point during the opening. You can find a facebook event for the art show right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a look at what else is coming up at Black Sheep in the near future.
