We are keeping the ball rolling on new band pages on our site with bringing you one today that is long overdue and that is for solo musician Dexter Anodyne. You can check out that page right here – there’s maybe not much on it right now but you can stream the song that Dexter released from an upcoming album that is coming out next month on new local label “Signal Element Records.” Cool! Dexter is playing a show this upcoming Saturday June 29th at Buzz Bomb Brewing Company right by us. After that keep your eyes and ears peeled for info regarding a release show for the new album!

We now count a total of 42 current band pages on our site, which you can check out any of right here (yes, a bunch of them are still outdated and we are working on updating them). Do you play in an original music local band or are a solo musician that has not yet gotten a page set up with us? We would love to hear from you! Send us an email at dumbrecs@gmail.com and we will work with you to get something up!

New Band Pages: “Prevention”

It’s a brand new week, so we are keeping things rolling with a brand new band page on our site. This time it’s for the new Springfield straight-edge hardcore band called “Prevention“. Prevention has played only one show at this point, and last week we featured their debut demo Your Bad Habits streaming on our site. Check out their band page on our site right here for a long list of related projects that we sure isn’t complete. Prevention will be playing their next show as their tape release show at Bread Slammers on Thursday, July 18th in about one month.

Our list of current bands on our site still has a lot of work needing to be done, but we are proud of it. There are a total of 41 on there right now, but a lot of them are out of date. Whoops! If you play in a local Springfield original music band or are a solo musician that has not gotten a page with us – email us at dumbrecs@gmail.com and we will set something up!

New Band Pages: Final Order

Gooood Monday Morning Springfield. We are kicking off another week right by bringing you another band page on our site and another featured band of the week. Would you believe it but we had not gotten one together for Final Order yet – a band that played their first show at Black Sheep back in August of last year (that means they’ve almost been around a full year)! Check that out right here. We have been told that recordings for this band are going to be released very very soon. They are actually playing the very next show at Bread Sheep coming up this Saturday, and then another one here as well on July 6th!

This puts us at a total of 40 current band pages on our site, all of which you can check out right here – we know we still have a lot to do with getting these updated however and catching up with all of the new projects that have been forming in town! If you are a local original musician or play in a band that has not gotten a page set up with us yet, shoot us an email at dumbrecs@gmail.com and we will work with you to get something set up!

We are trying to keep it going on updating our currently pretty out of date list of local active bands on our website! There have been a lot of new bands forming within the past few months, and Blushe is without a doubt one to be paying attention to! So, today we bring you a new page on our site for Blushe – although it might not be much. Check that out right here. Hopefully we can be on the lookout for new recordings and shows from Blushe in the near future.

Check out our current bands page on our site right here. Do you play in a local band or are a local musician who has not gotten a page together with us? Reach out to dumbrecs@gmail.com and we will work with you to get something set up!

New Band Pages: MAC, Kenyon DeShasier

Would you believe it but the other day we looked over and realized how terribly not-up-to-date all of the band pages on our site are right now. There are tons of new band projects that have started that we don’t have pages for, and a lot of them we do have pages for aren’t exactly up to date! We are working on it – today bringing you two new band pages that aren’t anything too fancy for local acts MAC and Kenyon DeShasier – both have been playing shows in the area for over a year at this point. On each page you can stream music from both and find links to where else you can find them on the world wide web.

We count 38 current band pages we have on our site right now which is no where near being up to date. We’ll be working on getting this updated these next few weeks! Do you play in a band here in town or are you a solo musician that hasn’t set up a band page with us yet? We would love to hear from you – email us at dumbrecs@gmail.com and we will work with you to set something up!

New Band Pages: Foam Fangers

Low and behold, we now have an official band page up and running on our site for Foam Fingers, the new-ish Springfield punk band whose first release we shared with you all yesterday. You can check out that new page right here where you can stream music, read up more about the band and find links to all of their social medias. Foam Fangers don’t have any Black Sheep shows lined up at the moment, but you can look out for more in the future.

Looks like our current Springfield band count is about 50-some and we still have some new projects to make pages for! Check out our current bands page right here. Do you play in a Springfield band or musical act and have not yet set up a page on our site? Email us at blacksheepspringfield@gmail.com and we will work with you to set something up!

New Band Pages: Rather Dashing

It’s Monday night, and it’s probably been a minute since we’ve added any new band pages to our website – so here is our most recent addition. We have a new page for the new alternative / blues / indie / genre-fusing band Rather Dashing. Check out their new page on the Black Sheep site right here. There you can find links to all of the band’s websites and stream their seven-track release which came out earlier this year. Rather Dashing have not played a show at Black Sheep yet – they did perform at Downhome Music Festival at the end of last month.

Check out any of our 40+ active band pages on our site right here. Do you play in an active Springfield band or are you a solo musician and have yet to set up a page on our site? We would love to hear from you! Reach out to us at blacksheepspringfield@gmail.com and we will work with you to set something up.
