Good morning! Happy Monday! What a better way to kick off the week other than with a really solid show going on at Dumb Records tonight! We didn’t have any shows this weekend, instead we have this going on tonight. Spowder is coming to town all the way from New Brunswick, New Jersey, sent to us by Screaming Females themselves straight through the mail. Stream their music on the player below. There is also a solid lineup of local acts performing tonight. This includes Master Bastard, who have recently released their second album. Also The Telephone Junkies, you can never go wrong with them. And then opening things up is a brand new Springfield band called “No Good Deed” which we know nothing about! We don’t even know who’s in it!

All of that starts at 7:00 pm and admission is $7. Check out a facebook event for tonight right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a complete list of what’s coming up at our space!

Did you know we have a show going on at our space tonight? It’s just three bands, here on a Wednesday night. It will be good for you to come, as a nice mid-week treat. We have a band coming from California (the first from California to play our new downtown spot?) called Squarecrow. You can check ’em out on the player streaming below. Also two solid local acts are on this show, it’s gonna be good. Attic Salt is on this show, they are good. And guess what else, Starter Jackets are also on this show, they are also pretty good.

All of this happens tonight at 7:00 pm and admission is $5. You can check out that flier for some 2019 fall fashion tips to get your outfits ready. Check out a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a look at what all is coming up at Dumb Records in the near future.

Happy fall, everybody. It’s fall outside. And October, and this is our first show in October happening tonight!! It’s an indie-rocker of sorts. First off, we had the opening act drop off, so we only have three acts lined up for tonight. Things will likely start at 7:20pm on the dot because of this change. So now starting things is going to be Skyler Duncan – the mythical / legendary futuristic prog-rock ambient trio that’s been making some sort of splash in town? Headlining the bill is Greenhouse Opera – the new full band project of Dexter Anodyne, who has played at our space plenty of times. And right in the middle there we have a newer local duo called Idle Oath that we are excited about! Stream their music on the player below!

This show starts at 7:20 pm now, and admission is $5. Check out a facebook event for the show right here. Also check out our shows page to check out what else is lined up at our place in the near future!

Tonight is THE night!! There are four bands playing tonight between a big main show and big aftershow at what is certainly a once in a lifetime chance to see Shonen Knife from Japan play for free right here in Springfield. That’s right if you haven’t heard by now we don’t know what, but Shonen Knife from Japan, formed in 1981, is playing at Rock N’ Roll Hardee’s. They are on their 22nd full length album, “Sweet Candy Power” and on a big U.S. tour! Stream one of their earlier albums below. They are coming through with The Hooten Hallers playing some rockabilly from Missouri. That show starts at 6:00 pm at Rock N’ Roll Hardee’s (2501 Stevenson Drive), and it’s FREE. Car pooling or finding elsewhere other than the main Hardee’s lot is encouraged. Find a facebook event for that one right here.

THEN, after that there is a big aftershow over at Dumb Records. That one features big Top Shelf Records touring duo Slingshot Dakota from western Pennsylvania somewhere. The Telephone Junkies will be kicking things off for that one, we are shooting to start things at 9:00 or so, or whenever makes sense from whenever Shonen Knife will be finishing their set. Find a facebook event for that one right here. That show is $8 admission.

Tonight at Dumb Records: Starstuff, Reggie & The Demons, Layers, Vertrell Yates

There’s so much going on this weekend that we almost forgot that we do have an all local show lined up at Bread tonight. This one is going to be neat! A couple of the acts are hot off the open mic nights and straight onto this real deal show. Okay, so at the top of the bill is Starstuff – a fairly new local rock act that had played Black Sheep at one point towards the end of things. We don’t think they have anything online. There is also “Layers” – the poetry music fused duo and sometimes solo act. Come and eat it up with your ears. Reggie & The Demons is playing… who most of us know as “Niko”, this is the name of his new solo project that performed at our last open mic. Then opening things we have the bass / poetry fusion act Vetrell Yates, also playing his first real deal show at our space.

All of this starts at 7:00 pm and admission is $5. Check out a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a good look at what else is coming up at the near future.

Good morning, it’s the weekend everyone! We’ve got a busy time ahead of us – with shows happening tonight and tomorrow night and a record fair on Saturday. Tonight we’ve got rockin’ garage punk rock trio from Madison, Wisconsin The Hussy featuring a member of rock n’ roll group “Nobunny.” You can check them out on the player embedded below. They have a new album coming out called Looming, lol. In addition to The Hussy we’ve got a gabble of local bands playing this one as well, including a performance from rock group Epsom. There’s also the instrumental surf band, “Snuff Rider“. And ah yes, a performance by the newer Springfield hardcore band, Black Box.

This show starts at 7:00 pm and admission is $7. Check out a facebook event for the show right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a good look at what else is coming up at the Bread Dumb Records in the near future.

Today and tonight is going to be pretty non stop for us with the sidewalk sales going on and a pretty stacked hip hop show happening tonight! Tonight we’ve got another six performers lined up, most of them have never performed at our space before. At the top of the bill is Junior Pasáre, who recently dropped an album called We Gone Win. Moving on down the flier… we got Alexa Redd, who is a pop artist from Lincoln, Illinois who is also doing big things. She performed in front of our space earlier this spring for the “Fat Ass 5k” parade downtown and that was a fun time even though it rained. Moving down the list, we have a very rare performance by CompositionC, who recently put out a full length album which we happen to have in stock on CD in our store! This will be his first performance since putting out the album. Animals With Human Names is on the bill as well, playing for the second time in our space. Then is a younger artist we just heard about going by “Keyng“, based out of Lanphier High School right here in Springfield! Opening things up at this one is Nardo Drip – an artist originally from Chicago who from what we understand has some hot dance moves as well.

Tonight doors are at 7:00 pm and show time is right at 7:30 pm! Admission is $5. Check out a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page where we have everything coming up at our space listed out.
