Whoops, we almost forgot to tell you – there is a five act show happening tonight at The CFP House here in town! It’s surely a matter of time before we are up and running with shows at our new space, but for now we are still in a house show era of Springfield underground music. This one looks like a pretty solid lineup – the Looming three-piece band is making a rare basement appearance tonight. Also Bottom Bracket who are hard at work on a new album and recently did a four day tour or something. Tonight there are two touring acts – one including “Farseek” from Ohio that played at Black Sheep at some point, right? If anyone remembers that old legendary Springfield DIY space. Also on tour from Michigan is Complainer. We have their music streaming on the player below. Opening things up is Springfield solo acoustic act Flunkie!

This show starts at 7:00 pm and admission is $5. Check out a facebook event for the show right here. Also be sure to check out our Springfield shows page, which we need to update. Thanks!

It’s hot outside today. The super bowl is going on. So what better way to spend it in a sweaty basement full of punks at the CFP house? That’s what’s going on tonight somewhere in this city. This show features a few touring acts – on the top of the bill is Chicago “straight edge hardcore” group Decline – whose music you can find streaming on the player below. Another hardcore group from St. Louis – Time & Pressure is coming, a band that has played at Black Sheep before. Another St. Louis band coming up for the show is Redbait. Sounds like we’ve got a packed house! Local groups include No Cash Value – who just played a short set at CFP last week. Last but not least is Final Order from right here in the Capital City.

This show starts at the CFP at 7:00 pm. Admission is five dollars to go to the out of town bands and it’s an all ages shows. If you do not know where the CFP is located, maybe you can inquire on the facebook event. Be sure to also check out our Springfield shows page where we try to keep a list of shows coming up in town that are outside of our own space.

It’s cold outside today. We figure while we are still waiting for our space to get approved for events we might as well be doing show announcement posts for other DIY all ages show that are going on and coming up in town, right? There is one coming up this Sunday, February 3rd at the CFP house. Hopefully it will be a little bit warmer out by then. Do you feel lost without any shows happening at The Black Sheep now? Are you confused, frightened by this new in-between time with no shows going on at the new Dumb Records quite yet?? We might be. But don’t worry, there are still some shows happening around town in these in between times! There is one happening tonight in fact, at the “CFP” house! It’s a three-band hardcore show. This one features the band Decisions from New York! Stream some of their music on the player below. We also get a RARE performance and the first ever since band lotto of the mythical Springfield punk group – EGGMAN. Have you found the last three Eggman flex’s hidden around the city yet? Opening things up is now Graveswitcher – Prowess was gonna play but Justice never asked off work we guess and then Liam decided to take an out of town weekend trip with Emily to Indianapolis or something.

Check it out! This show starts at 7:00 pm over at that house and it’s $5. Don’t know where the CFP is? Too bad! All we can do is direct you to this facebook event. We will also have to update our Springfield Shows page here real soon!!

Hi, here we are on this dreary Sunday continuing our crazy six-day streak full of shows. Tonight there is nothing going on at Black Sheep – but there is a show going on at a house in town called the CFP (Centucky Fried Peanut) house. This one is for the touring act Frail Body from Rockford, Illinois up north. Cool! Also on this show is hardcore band Final Order from right here home grown and raised. Also homegrown hardcore and raised is Graveswitcher who just played here last night. Other than that, there’s Capitol Offense (hardcore heavy band) from Decatur. And opening things up it looks like… Crowning (no, actually they probably wouldn’t be opening up), from Chicago.

That is your show. Things start at 7:00 pm over there at The CFP, sorry we can’t tell you where the house is on there. $5 for the touring bands. Find a facebook event for that one right here. Also check out our Springfield shows page for a list of shows going on outside of Black Sheep (we are working on).
