Today we have a big show to tell you about coming up in March. This one is on Saturday, March 14th and it is going to be the big EP release show for local band Blushe! It sure has been a minute since they last performed here, perhaps at Black Sheep. Stream some of their music on the player embedded below. Also Attic Salt is performing, a band everyone knows and loves. Before them is Dexter Anodyne performing another solo show. Looks like opening things up is the electronic synth act with a new album, Ricki Marvel.

For this one we have the full band Sorry Charlie on board playing – and then everyone else playing this show has never played our space before! Lovely! The first of those is Nic Gundy, who is the one act based a little bit away in Normal, Illinois. Stream some of Nic’s music on the player below. Before that is Springfield-based Jessica Cloyd, performing at our space for the first time! And opening things up is Nathan Dickerson, who apparently is a new solo act from right here in town!

We are overflowing with show announcements we have to tell you about for the upcoming spring right now. This one is a hardcore show of sorts happening on Sunday, March 29th. There are five whole bands. At the top of the bill is Pig City coming all the way from Phoenix, Arizona (that’s a long ways away). Stream their music on the player embedded below. We also have… from Kenosha, Wisconsin for real this time… Livid! This two piece group had played Black Sheep a couple of times including at the last Dumb Fest. Isn’t that all amazing. For this one we have a heck ton of local support. It’s the return of Capitol Offense from Decatur for the first time in our space this year. We also have Power of Dusk from Champaign/Urbana coming and playing at our downtown location for the first time. Opening things up is the one Springfield band on the bill and that is Prowess!

This show starts at 7:00 pm and costs $7. Check out a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a good look at everything coming up this year.

We are doing this thing again. For those of you who can remember as far back as December of the year 2017, we held a game show / trivia night of sorts at Black Sheep, put on by “Country Breakfast Jack” aka BJ. This included triva, relay races, and a live jazz band performing the jeopardy theme song throughout most of the night. Now, on Friday, February 21st it is happening all over again at our new space featuring our new gold curtains. From the event description:

Game Show Night is going to include games, challenges, music, and tons of other surprises that will make us all feel like winners in the end.

The Show will be hosted by our own Country Jack and his mom Jill.

Music will be provided by Animals with Human names and maybe some comedy TBA.

Surely this is going to be a good time. The fun will begin at 7:00 pm on this day and entry is $5. Check out a facebook event for the show right here. Also check out our shows page for a look at what else is coming up this month and beyond at Dumb Records.
