Hello. We are Bottom Bracket, a 3-piece band out of Springfield, Illinois. We’re probably best described as an emo band, but we draw from pop punk and math rock influences as well.

The first few songs came from riffs Mario brought home from college, and we got together for the first time in September 2016. We played our first ever show in December 2016 without a name and a handful few other shows as ‘Roman Candle Drive By’ before settling on our current name, named after the first song we learned.

Our sound takes influence from American Football, Algernon Cadwallader, The Hotelier, And So I Watch You From Afar, Alaska, and our hometown friends in Looming, to name a few.

In the summer of 2017, we recorded a 5-song EP, “Dreamland”, at Southtown Sound, with Kyle Noonan as the producer. We released the EP at the Black Sheep 12th Anniversary show on September 16, 2017.

As of September 2019, we have played 101 shows in 16 states. We’ve gone on 6 weekend tours – one with our friends in Ghoul Jr, one with Nectar, 4 by ourselves – and also an 11-day east coast run in June 2018.

Looking forward, we are gearing up to record new material to be released later this year, and also plan on hitting the road again very soon.
