We have quite the show coming up at Black Sheep ten days from now on Friday, October 19th featuring a range of performances from comedy/improv to ambient and acoustic. This one marks the return of Central Illinois-based comedy/improv group “The Zoo” who some of you may remember performed here back in May. We are excited to welcome them back. We are fusing this comedy show together with a lineup of more laid back solo acts. This includes the Memphis-based experimental / ambient project “Holly Gallows” whose music you can find on the player below. Did they play at The Radon Lounge at some point? Is that just one guy? Also on the bill is electronic project Imaginary Colours (with Colours being spelled the British way). Before that we have a performance by Kristin Walker (of bands Glower, Moondead, and a few others). Annnd the fourth and final musical act is electronic / new wave artist Eric Marvel.

Yes, all of that is at 7:00 pm and admission will be $7. Check out a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a look at what else is coming up at Black Sheep in the near future.

The first at the top of the bill is “Canned Laughter“. You can listen to their demo on the player below. Canned Laughter is on tour with a group called “Tamagotchi Teenage Dirt Bag“. How nice. For locals on the bill we have a rare show by the band Livin’ Thing who hasn’t had anything lined up since Black Sheep Fest this past year. Opening things up is three piece punk band Prowess.

We hope you all have been having a good weekend – now it’s time to close off the weekend with this Sunday night show at Black Sheep! We can’t remember the last time we saw an event billed as a “metal and rap” show at Black Sheep if it’s ever happened at all, so we are excited for this one to be happening tonight featuring a mixture of half metal and half hip hop. This show features Springfield metal group Eyes From Above (pictured above). They have a new EP being released next month as well. On to the hip hop: we have artist Blakk Rose performing (for the first time at Black Sheep?) You can stream one of Blakk Roses’s songs on the player below. Also on the hip hop end of the spectrum is Nefarious Cloud, a familiar artist to the Black Sheep stage. Robot Army from the metal end will be joining us as well. Then looks like opening things up is a newer metal project from Pekin, Illinois called “Arkham Secrets“. Be sure to come out early to check out what they are all about.

This show starts a little bit earlier at 6:00 pm. Admission is $7. Check out a facebook event for the show right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page to take a look at what else we’ve got lined up at Black Sheep this fall.

Also on the bill is an interesting group you will be sure to want to not miss called “Mr. Magenta” from Edwardsville, Illinois playing some jazz / math rock fusion. Then the hip hop trio and performance group Bermuda Triad is up before them to rock our socks off. Then looks like we have a brand new Springfield band on the bill called “Star Stuff” featuring members of Master Bastard.

This show starts at 7:00 pm and is $5. Check out a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a good look at what else is coming up at Black Sheep in the near future.
