Also on tour (but not touring together) is a newer group from Chicago called Dendrons. They just have one song up online, which you can find streaming on the player below. We are lucky to have support from the psychedelic noise project “Schedule One” and also the one man band “Lord Mitchell“, both of which will be playing at Bread Stretchers Gourmet Sub Shop for the first time in their entire lives.

100.5 WYMG Broadcasting Live From Record Store Day + Dumb Records Sponsoring “Vinyl Fridays”

WYMG_photo

A few of you may have noticed we’ve been on the airwaves outside of our usual 4:00 to 6:00 pm timeslot on 88.3 WQNA… this time getting mentioned (and interviewed) on 100.5 WYMG! Dumb Records has dipped into our first radio sponsorship ad, by sponsoring some Fridays of WYMG’s morning show “Vinyl Friday” feature hosted by Lynch and Laura (who also won “Best Radio Show” in the SJ-R’s reader’s choice awards). A couple weeks ago Brian Galecki was in on the morning show and they spun a few records on air that came straight from our show. And they’ll be doing that same thing this upcoming Friday for those of you listening in the early morning hours! And guess what else, WYMG will be broadcasting LIVE at the very start of Record Store Day from our store this upcoming Saturday! They plan on interviewing some of you in line for the big event, also will be live over our PA system until 10:00 am that morning. We’ll continue sponsoring some of their Vinyl Fridays after that as well.

WQNA also has separate plans for Record Store Day involving our space, which we will likely fill you in on tomorrow!

April 25th at Bread Stretchers: Marbin, Ben Delaurentis

0014062018_10.jpg

Today we are excited to announce a pretty big show that’s going to be happening at the new and fake Bread Stretchers Lounge downtown! (Maybe something about it is fake, but this show that is happening is very real). If any of you remember the jazz fushion group Marbin that came through Black Sheep last year and blew us all away, they will be returning! Oh by the way this is happening on Thursday, April 25th coming up in a couple of weeks! Check out their Wikipedia page right here to learn more about the group, which features two brothers from Israel (pictured above) who are now based out of Chicago. This time they will be touring with a solo musician who is opening up the show and that is Ben Delaurentis from Virginia. Check out some of Marbin’s music on the player below.

This one starts at 7:00 pm. Admission is $10 in advance and $15 at the door. You can look into getting advance tickets right here. Find a facebook event here. Also check out our shows page for what else is coming up at Bread Stretchers which is located near 4th and Monroe or 4th and a halfth streets downtown or something like that.
