It might not be an easy task, but we have been trying our best to gather photos of the incredible Dumb Fest 4-Ever which happened here in Springfield now two weeks ago. The festival happened over the course of three different days on June 10th, 11th, and 12th and 50 bands played at 5? 6? different locations. We have just been grabbing photos as we see them appear, and giving as much photo credit as we can here!! Special thanks to photographers Stephen Houldsworth, Miles Fowler, Austin Roberts, Will Mecca, and B.J. Pearce, and plenty of others. If you took pictures of Dumb Fest that we don’t have, we want to include them in our album! Email us at blacksheepspringfield@gmail.com with your photos. We have started compiling our big album of Dumb Fest 4 photos right here on our Dumb Fest 4-Ever flickr album. You can also find them on the Dumb Fest facebook page soon. Also check out a few below.

Check out more videos from the festival and also other videos/pictures taken at Black Sheep over the years on our vids/pics page.

The Studio Show Needs Your Help!

Screen Shot 2016-06-23 at 8.33.06 AM.png

The hit Springfield youtube series and web show The Studio Show have had a successful first season and it looks like they trying to get ready for an even bigger and better second season. The Studio Show launched a Kickstarter campaign earlier this week to help propel them into a successful second season. The campaign is to raise funds for The Studio Show to acquire equipment and props needed to take the second season to the next level. You can go to the campaign page and check out the show’s nifty video for the Kickstarter:

THE STUDIO SHOW SEASON 2 KICKSTARTER

Click on that link right up there ^^^ to go to the Kickstarter. A couple of days into the campaign and the show has over 10% of the funds they need to reach their $5,000 goal. There is also a long list of incentives for donators, which you can also check out on the Kickstarter page. From the Kickstarter:

Season 1 was completed with no budget, found props, dumpster-dive set pieces and hundreds of hours of donated time by the cast and crew. With your help, we can get Joe some decent equipment, fill Arlin’s wardrobe closet, and buy Keil new antiques.

We have big plans for Season 2 and they can only be realized through your support and generosity. Every donation counts, so please check out all of our funding options and the sweet perks that can be yours!

The Studio Show has featured a number of bands and artists familiar to The Black Sheep stage in their first season including Jeff Williams, Clare Frachey, SAP, Looming, The Luzhin Defense, Animals With Human Names, and more.

13445570_1768665666703745_7758778164846441556_n.jpg

Wow-ee look at this, it’s a six band show happening in August. This one is happening on Saturday, August 20th. You think this can get over in four hours? We think so. For this show we have the all-local pop group The Locals performing. We also have the stars on the bill Stereo Static, who were responsible for setting this one up. Bravo guys! We also have Fill In The Blank, filling in all of those blanks on this show. Then we have Gadget– an emo band from Decatur who will actually also be playing our Battle of the Bands on July 9th (very cool). Before them we have Blind Social on the bill, the alternative rock n’ roll indie rock band. Check out some of Blind Social’s music on the player below. And opening things up (we think) is The Incorporated! based out of Litchfield and Macomb these days (we also think).

This show will start at 6:30 pm and admission is only $5 for the six bands. You can check out a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a good look at what else is coming up at Black Sheep this summer.

13494792_10208971752631662_2200820126780395831_n.jpg

More July show announcements, here we go! On Wednesday, July 13th we have a show lined up for you all. This one features the youthful and rowdy punk band Panzys, who we have not seen in quite a minute at Black Sheep. Make sure to make it out to their spectacular return. The touring / out of town band on this bill is Chicago’s own Lower Automation. They play an experimental type of punk, and you can find their music streaming on the player below. Starting this show off we have a couple of wacky Ted Keylon projects. The first of which is TANG (The Avant National Guard), who will be bringing the noise and the weirdness. Opening things up is the electric ukulele-driven rock band, Sweet Bippy.

This show will start at 7:00 pm and admission is $5. You can’t find a facebook event for this one yet, sorry. In the meantime you can check out our shows page for a look at what all is coming up at Black Sheep this summer.

Tonight at Black Sheep: Secret Stuff, Pretend I’m Not There, Lavender, Shark Week

It’s a Monday night and there is a show happening tonight at Black Sheep! Tonight we have the return of Secret Stuff from Nashville, Tennessee. They last played here in January with Run Forever and Our Lady. Check out some of Secret Stuff’s music streaming on the player below. Looks like the other touring band that was on the bill tonight (Pictures of Verrnon) sadly had to dropped since we originally announced this show. However we still have Lavender, the Central Illinois-based shoegaze project, and also Pretend I’m Not There- the loud and ambient solo project of B.J. Pearce. Then opening things up we have a performance by the femme jazz rock band Shark Week.

The show tonight starts at 7:00 pm and admission is $5. You can find a facebook event for the show right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a good look at what else is coming up at Black Sheep in the near future.
