Keeping the March show announcements coming! By the way, we just updated the shows page on our site and our March calendar is looking pretty intense! Good luck out there! This one is happening exactly one week from today on Saturday, March 10th. We have the band Vonne performing once again! The band reunited for The Black Sheep Holiday show back in December after not performing together for more than a year. Is the band reunited for good? Probably not. This show also features Springfield band The Little Death. Then we have Marble Teeth from Decatur, Illinois. Marble Teeth is the solo project of Caleb formerly of the duo “Spooky Poo” that played a number of times at Black Sheep before. Check out some of that new project’s music on the player below. We also have Telephone Junkies, the heavy-hitting and young indie rock band that everyone has been raving about. Opening things up is Clementine – the new solo project of Clare Frachey.

This show will start at 7:00 pm and admission is $6. Check out a facebook event for the show right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page to look at everything we have coming up at Black Sheep this spring!

The next show we have to tell you about happening one week from today is at The Radon Lounge on Saturday, March 3rd. First of all look at that wonderful painting by Chris Martin – Chris will be the featured artist at The Radon for this show. (The Radon Lounge has been featuring different local artists set up at each show in one corner of their basement). The touring act on this bill is a group called Veseria from Indianapolis, Indiana. You can stream some of their music on the player below. Then there’s another band more familiar to The Radon and that is shoegaze project Hushpad from Lincoln Illinois. Lined up before that is Springfield rock group Epsom playing at The Radon Lounge for the first time. Solo Acoustic act Alec James is opening, also first time performing at The Radon Lounge.

That show is at 7:00 pm and is $5 admission. To find out where The Radon Lounge is, you must inquire on their website. Find a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our Springfield shows page for a list of shows going on in Springfield outside of Black Sheep.

Did you know that Looming are already three days into one of the biggest tours they have ever embarked on as a band right now? We guess now would probably be a good time to tell you about it! The band is currently on tour with big national touring act Tigers Jaw and also Yowler. Unfortunately that tour is not coming to Springfield, but it is stopping through Dekalb, Illinois on March 16th. The band is playing at The Black Sheep as well, but it’s the one in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Looming released their second full length album Seed back in October with a release show at Black Sheep. Be on the lookout for another Looming show to be announced in Springfield happening later this year sometime in the future.

Thanks to all who came out to the acoustic show last night, now we’ve got another one happening tonight! This one is more in the punk direction- for this one we have a lineup of bands from the area, a lot of them newer. Prowess will be making a return it looks like – playing a show here for the first time this year. Nice. Up before them is a newer band from nearby in Jacksonville, Illinois called “No Cash Value“. We also have another new band coming from Decatur called “This Is A Stick Up!”. You can stream one of their new songs “The Spaghettisburg Address” on the player below. Opening things up looks like is Springfield/Bloomington alternative-punk band Glower (pronounced as in “flower” but with a “g”).

This one starts at 7:00 pm and admission is just $5. Check out a facebook event for the show right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a list of what else is coming up for shows at Black Sheep in the coming months.
