Some Things Can’t Be Ignored: Unreleased Park Demo

parkSee that up there? That is Park performing at Skank Skates in the 1990’s. Springfield music blog Some Things Can’t Be Ignored has just released a very early demo that Park recorded when they were just starting out. From Some Things Can’t Be Ignored:

I obtained this rare gem from a kind gentleman a while back and am SUPER excited about sharing this with you all!  What we have here are what may possibly be the first ever studio recordings of Park!!  Yes…these songs pre-date the “Blue Screen” demo!!  I remember this tape getting passed around amongst friends and family back in the late 1990′s and actually worked with Eric Lipe and I think his cousin or somebody at Blockbuster Video shortly after these songs were recorded, but still never got a copy of this tape until about a year ago.  Needless to say, I was EXTREMELY excited to hear these songs again after some 17 or 18 years!!  These are amongst the first Park songs I ever heard and the songwriting that I immediately became a fan of.  The date I have listed above as 1995 MAY be incorrect.  It’s gotta be close, though!  I also don’t have any idea in which order these songs originally appeared on the tape.  When I received them, they were just in alphabetical order, but as I imported them to convert into .wav files, they adjusted themselves into another order, so I dunno.  I’m just gonna feature them here in the order they automatically put themselves into because I don’t know any better.

You can check out the full post about Park’s nine-song demo right here. And don’t forget to check the Some Things Can’t Be Ignored blog for plenty of cool old Springfield releases from the 1990s and earlier. You can stream the songs from Park’s demo below, and head over to the original post to download the demo. Park has recently reunited and just got done playing a ten-year anniversary show for their 2003 album It Won’t Snow Where You’re Going.
