New Band Pages: Skywalker, NIL8

We have a few surprise band pages for you today!  Our list of current Springfield bands keeps growing and growing and growing.  Right now we have two new band pages for you all to check out.

The first is the band that defines Springfield local music for a lot of us.  NIL8 (or N.I.L.8) has a new page up.  The band started in 1982 and will be celebrating 30 years…
~~~~(((((30 YEARS!!!!!!))))))~~~~
…of being a band at the upcoming Hobgoblinspookadelic shows at Black Sheep (October 19th) and Donnie’s Homespun (October 27th).  The Black Sheep Hobgob show will be all ages and will also feature the new band featuring members of Park, Tiger Tank and also The Timmys.  We also plan on having a lot of work done to the inside of our venue  in time for the show.  You can check out the new page here.
The second band page is a new death metal band called Skywalker.  Skywalker features members of the bands Witness It All, All Eyes Upon Adelaide, and Scott Blacula.  They will be playing the show announced earlier this morning on November 30th.  Check out the new page here.
Go to our current bands list to see a long list of current Springfield bands.  We also have a page for past bands.  Do you play in a band that is not yet featured on our site?  We would love to hear from you!  Email blacksheepspringfield@gmail.com with your band name and info and we will work to set a page up for you.
11/30 at Black Sheep: Our Lady, Skywalker, Scott Blacula, Suffer The Wrath, DB Cooper
We have a very mixed genre show for you all coming up at the end of November.  Hold on to your hats.  Pop punk folk punk band Our Lady will be playing.  Also playing is Skywalker, a new death metal band featuring at least one member from Scott Blacula.  Speaking of Scott Blacula, they are also playing the show!  Go here and check out some songs from their latest demo.  Then we have Suffer The Wrath, the most brutal band in all of Springfield.  And finally we have DB Cooper, which is a hip hop/rap project from Springfield.
The show is Friday, November 30th and will be $5.  A facebook event page for the show can be found here.  Also be sure to check out our other upcoming shows over on our shows page.
Our Lady Talk of Upcoming Plans
Springfield punk folks Our Lady have made a tumblr post explaining line up changes and future plans for the band.  The band has parted ways with drummer Gary, who will continue to drum in Pound for Pound.  Kyle Ratliff (Caterpillar Club, Mother Leopard, Foxtail) will take Gary’s place as the new drummer.  The band also touched up on plans for their next tour and full length.  From the band’s tumblr:
Our Lady is planning an upcoming release for which we have already started the writing / recording process. The only details we know about this release is it will hopefully be out before Spring of next year. We will be playing a lot more new songs at shows, and there is a possibility of a special release before our 16 day tour in January.
You can read the full post here.  You can also see Our Lady play at Black Sheep on Tuesday, October 9th with the band Run Forever, which is a week from today.
Roundtable 9-30 Meeting RECAP + Black Sheep Construction
Last night was Black Sheep’s last roundtable meeting before we take on our next and biggest construction phase of the fall.  Big things are ahead for Black Sheep and we need all the help we can get.
First off, thank you to everyone who has donated so far towards our stage fund.  We are approaching our goal but we still haven’t quite made it yet.  If this stage is going to get built we need the funds for it.  Donate here.
In the upcoming weeks we need help in the form of donations and also time.  If you would like to come and help with construction and remodeling projects in the upcoming weeks, listen up!  We will have people working at Black Sheep in the upcoming weeks every weekday evening starting Tuesday (tomorrow) at 5:00 pm.  We will also be there working other weekdays starting at 5:00 and Saturdays sometime during the day.  Anyone is welcome to come and help.
We could also use your help in the form of tools and materials.  If you have any extra plywood, or any other type of wood that you are willing to get rid of, we could use it.  If you have any extra carpet or curtains, we could use it.  If you have any tools we could borrow, we could probably use them too.
We also need your help getting the word out about upcoming Black Sheep shows, mainly the Hobgoblinspookadelic show on October 19th.  Our goal is to have a lot done by this show, so it is a huge show for Black Sheep.  Help getting the word out by printing out some of the fliers below and passing them out to friends.
