This is a post to let you know that we now have the brand new issue of Activator Magazine in stock at Dumb Records (for free). Nice. This issue features multi-instrumental recording musicianical, Mark Schwartz on the cover. A man who has came out with at least 6 or 7 albums during quarantine alone.

As usual, there are more album reviews and write-ups, a 217 scene report, poems… no upcoming show calendar this time (which is very understandable). Other interviews for this issue include… interviews with Flipside, Dan Vapid, the new Decatur group “The Rolling Sixes USA,” The Run Around, Ciraxis, Tello, Jeff Curtis Williams (DIM Art House), Morgan Fleck (Buzz Bomb Brewery), and Diana Thronley. All of this and much, much, more!!!

Today we are letting you know of more cancellations for major events usually taking place downtown this time of year. Most of this comes as no surprise. The following events are cancelled this year:

  • Blues & BBQ Festival
  • Labor Day Parade
  • St. Patrick’s Day Parade (previously re-scheduled for September)

We were kind of looking forward to a St. Patrick’s Day Parade in September, but understand that once again safety precautions must be taken in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The good news in all of this is that parking downtown is still free, and free parking has been extended until Labor Day weekend, September 7th for now!
