Today we bring you a brand new video of a brand new band called Attic Salt performing at Black Sheep this past week. This song is called “Daylight Savings” and it was shot at the band’s show with Hospital Job, Horrible Things, and SAP. Expect a new band page on our site coming from Attic Salt very soon. On Wednesday, July 20th we might be mixing a few things up and trying something new. At 9:00 pm that night, we are going to be having a three-band show inside of Dumb Records. There is a metal show happening inside Black Sheep that we haven’t announced yet. We have a hardcore band coming from Austin, Texas called Sudden Attack on the bill. You can check them out on the music player below. We also have Death Cult touring with them and also from Texas. Then the third and opening band on this bill is a brand new Springfield band featuring members of Green Messiah, Garter, and GUSH called “Undone.” Make sure to catch them and see what that is all about.

You all know that it’s the 4th of July, looks like we also have a show happening at Black Sheep tonight that is surely going to be a bang of a hit. This show is going to start at 7:00 pm and go quick so we can all catch some fireworks afterwards and all hang out. Tonight we have Decatur-based hardcore band which rose from the ashes of Methdealer, called Capitol Offense. Very cool. We also have a touring band and that is Nequient from Chicago. Check out some of their music streaming on the player below. Then we have a couple of local acts. This includes the fierce grind-explosion that is known as “Torture Trend”. They are fairly new. We also have the space-themed hardcore band, Starlorde.

We have another July show announcement for you all this afternoon, this one happening on Friday, July 15th. This one is mostly a metal show, but it does have a few twists looks like. We have the alternative metal band “Odds of an Afterthought” coming from Minneapolis, Minnesota. You can stream some of their music on the player embedded below to find out more of what they are about. Also on tour is a band called “Of Brighter Skies” and they come from somewhere up in Wisconsin. Then we have three local bands on the bill, including the solid metalcore act Set Fire To Salem. Then a couple of surprises- we have the new hardcore/grind three-piece Torture Trend on this bill. Then opening things up looks like we have the Psychadelic rock band from Jacksonville- Flamingo.

It’s a Saturday night and there is a show happening at Black Sheep! Tonight will be the new album release show for Fill In The Blank. The band has a new album dropping for this show being called I Heart Mom. We have another four bands on the bill, including “The Great Indoors” and “Tomorrowz End” neither of which have played at Black Sheep before from what we know of, so expect some new things! (Both of those two bands are actually touring it turns out!) check out some music from The Great Indoors from Michigan below. We also haveStereo Static on the bill, the new alternative/pop-punk project. Then opening things up for this show is the three-piece pop group The Locals.

Okay, we really just can’t get enough of the Dumb Fest 4-Ever aftermath here at blacksheepspringfield.com. We have one last little round of videos and then this will be it, we promise. Then it will be time to focus on Black Sheep Fest on August 9th and then possibly another Dumb Fest next year. Tonight we are bringing you videos of sets from Bleeding Gums at Rock N’ Roll Hardee’s, 86 Gemini at Skank Skates, and The Bug at some location we don’t even know about! We are all about the twists here at Black Sheep and Dumb Headquarters. We are also about friends and other people doing things and making stuff happen in this beautiful city of Springfield. We have been supportive of Lincoln’s Legends Podcast and Jeremie Bailey and the effort he has put in to seek out and highlight creative minds in our town. Just recently Jeremie and Lincoln’s Legends announced plans for a second season to kick off in just one week… and it’s happening inside Dumb Records! That’s right, Lincoln’s Legends has picked Dumb Records as a new stomping grounds for a new season starting this summer. The Springfield-based podcast will continue with interviews highlighting people doing creative things in our town, and this time the interviews will be conducted on our own couch. Check out the very interesting trailer on the player below to see how this new season is starting off:

The July show announcements are piling in harder and faster than we can almost keep up with! This one is happening on Sunday, July 24th and it packs some serious ROCK we are also not sure we can handle. For this show we have the band HOUND (featuring members of Bad Side and Ted Leo & The Pharmacists) coming from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. You can check out some of their music streaming on the player below. To go along with that type of serious rock, we have Springfield’s most serious rock band- Livin’ Thing lined up on this roster. Before that is the relaxed and *chill* Champaign-Urbana 90’s rock band Copper Blue. Then kicking things off we have the very first ever show for a new Springfield band going by the name of “Chili Mac.” Show up on time to find out what that is all about.

Oh shoot, we really are falling behind on these July show announcements because there are so many of them! This one is coming up on Tuesday, July 5th– it’s less than one week away! For this show we just have a two band touring package lined up, and then we’ll see if any other acts get added! The touring package includes the band The Cambion (pictured above) from somewhere in Indiana and Illinois. Then coming from a little bit farther away is the band Fail To Decay from Minnesota. Stream some of Fail To Decay’s music on the player below, it’s metal. We’ll see if any other local acts get added to this!

Tonight we can’t believe how super-solid of a pop punk show is going on at Black Sheep. We are talking about the good kind of pop punk here, and then a touch of other stuff to make for an all around good show. We have a couple of bands who haven’t played here in a minute. Tonight Horrible Things will be coming as part of their summer tour- featuring Tim Reynolds originally from Springfield, moved to Champaign, then moved to Chicago. [Now the band is based out of Chicago]. Stream their newest LP on the player below. We also have Springfield pop punk greats, Hospital Job who have also not played here in a minute. Then we have everyone’s favorite grunge punk band SAP taking the stage. And looks like up first we have the second ever show for a new Springfield band called Attic Salt that we are excited about.
