We have finally created a new band page for the long-running and recently reunited Springfield indie/rock band Park. Ladd Mitchell of Park announced on Black Sheep Radio in May that Park is a fully functioning band again and is also working on new material. It’s been a little while since we have created a new band page here at blacksheepspringfield.com! There are always new bands and projects popping up in Springfield, so we try to keep up with our current bands lists. Today we have a new page set up for a newer solo project in Springfield called Borealis. You can check out that page right here. Borealis is a new ambient/drone project from Mario Cannamela of Soap Scum. If you head over to the page you can read his bio, stream music, and check out links to other related band pages.

A new Springfield band War Magic has debuted a new 3 song EP called “Cyclomancy.” You can stream the track “The Days Explode In Heat” below, or check the whole EP on their Bandcamp.

Long running Springfield punk band The Timmys (who also won our 2012 end of the year poll for best song and best album) have parted ways with their long time drummer Wes. The Timmys released this statement on their facebook page:

Welp.. the time has come. Our drummer Wes has hit the ol’ dusty trail. He is expecting his 2nd daughter next month and is hanging up his Timmys hat. We thank him kindly for 16 blunderful years and we will love him always. So many memories. Thanks, old friend.

Along with the departure of Wes, The Timmys will be gaining drummer Gary Swagerty III (Pound For Pound, Obi-Wan Kanblo Mi). Gary was not named the new drummer from The Timmys right away. The band posted updates of drummer tryouts on their facebook page throughout most of last week. There seam to have been plenty of characters who tried out. You can see all of those on The Timmys facebook page right here.

Would you look at that! I guess that we hadn’t had a page for the great Brandon Carnes added to our list of band pages before this week! (That is Brandon Carnes’s solo and acoustic project). We created a page for Brandon and you can check that out as well as stream some of his songs right here.
