New Album from The Copyrights
Illnois native punk band The Copyrights (ft. member of local Hospital Job) have a new rarties collection called “Shits Fucked” coming out via It’s Alive Records. Pound For Pound Debuts New Song
Local hard-hitting legends Pound For Pound have debuted a new song off their upcoming album. A mainstay of Springfield heavy music scene since 1999, “Ripped Apart” is nothing short of heavy. Check the song out on their Bandcamp, or stream it below.
A full release is expected sometime this summer.
Champaign Metal Fest
Our all-ages sister venue Error Records is hosting the brutal Champaign Metal Fest coming up on July 13th. The line up includes For What It’s Worth, Slaughter Camp, Pit Fiend, From Cities Above, In Name Of Suffering, Øde Vinter, Empyrean, and Eminent Slaughter. The door is $7, and they open at 2:30pm. The event is all-ages.
Our Lady “Dawning” Review

Park Plan “It Won’t Snow” Ten Year Anniversary Show
Ten years ago in 2003 Springfield indie/rock band Park released their album It Won’t Snow Where You’re Going. Now it’s 2013 and Park have announced that they have reunited as a band and are currently working on a brand new album. When Ladd Mitchell came on to Black Sheep Radio a couple of weeks ago he talked to us about Park’s reunion and told us that Park will be playing SOHO Music Festival downtown this year and also a show in St. Louis on August 17th.
The Park show at the Fubar in St. Louis on Saturday August 17th and it will be a ten year anniversary show for the album It Won’t Snow Where You’re Going. Park will be playing their 2003 album in it’s entirety for the show. Bands also playing include Blackwater 64, Big Storm, and Clockwork. A facebook event can be found here. Black Sheep Radio Tomorrow: Jeremie Bailey
Tomorrow is another episode of Black Sheep Radio! For this episode we have Jeremie Bailey of the other local radio show on 92.7 WQLZ FM’s “Bandemonium.” Will there be some local radio show rivalry going on? We don’t know! We will also be talking about and playing tunes from some of the bands that will be playing Dumb Fest at Black Sheep and Skank Skates on June 14th and 15th. Make sure to tune in tomorrow from 4:00 to 6:00 pm!

Tonight at Black Sheep: Big Storm, Idly, Yogi Beara
Tonight at Black Sheep is a folky rock show. And it is ANOTHER Wednesday night show at Black Sheep. We may have had a show every Wednesday of this month. Tonight the show features Big Storm, the feel good rock n’ roll band local to Springfield. This show will also feature stringsy melodic folk rockers Idly from Austin, Texas. You can stream some of their music below. The show will also feature the heavy rock two-piece Yogi Beara (who have yet to set up their Black Sheep band page). And did we mention that Big Storm is playing?!
