Give Back To Mama Linda

On this past Saturday night a big friend and supporter of the Black Sheep’s, Mama Linda and her family lost their home and possessions in an intense and unexpected house fire. The house was located in Lilly, Illinois and played a key role in housing bands during Cornerstone Music Festival as well as other times. Mama Linda also frequently provides food for bands at shows, including plenty of the food that Apryl brings to shows. Here’s a message from Black Sheep owner Kevin Bradford:

Hello everyone, our prayers and hearts go out to our friend “Mamma” Linda Olsen. Linda has been a longtime supporter of Black Sheep and of many other bands and people throughout the years. Linda’s home and all of her possessions were lost in a fire that happened May 10th. Many do not realize that it is usually Linda that gives Apryl the food she uses and prepares for the wonderful meals she gives to our community. The Audiofeed Festival that we are a part of emerged from her generosity and love for all the motley wanderers who were hard up for food that she would dish out in abundance. There is a “Go Fund Me” that is open if you would feel so inclined to donate to. We will also be doing a benefit in late June for her as well. At Black Sheep we always have, and will look out for our own. Thanks everyone. -Kevin

You can find a link to the “Give Back To Mama Linda” fund right here. We will be back with more info later on about a benefit show happening in June.

Hey cool cats and rad rats, you’d better believe it- tonight is going to be quite the show. We’ve got some goopy tunes comin around from the local mongrels and Mouthsex. The band Q will be playing some deliberate and hardcore punk tunes, and they’re coming here from O’Fallon so definitely check them out and support their fine force. To change the pace, Yatagarasu will have some hardcore, oldschool video-game jams to crunch up the night. Then, bringing some dope-dark-manic-hardcore punk tunes all the way from Austin, Texas will be Femoral, so definitely support those guys as well as Yatagarasu and Q. The last act we have on the bill is the local interactive noise set Aporia, so ultimately this show is gonna be tight.

It’ll be this fine night, $5 at the door, 7 pm. Come slam with the ghouls. Here’s the facebook event in case you get scared. Check out our other shows coming up!
