Dumb Records St. Louis Showcase Show RECAP

Last week on Thursday, January 15th, Melt (restaurant/venue) was kind enough to open their doors and host a Dumb Records showcase show featuring three Springfield bands and one St. Louis act. Dumb Records came and set up a pop-up record shop, and door money also went towards benefitting the Springfield record store. The show was a great success, with a good turnout for a Thursday night. We can’t thank our St. Louis friends enough for letting us put on our very own showcase in their town!

Today we have a few photos and videos from that show. Bands that played include SAP, Soap Scum (above), Diaper Rash, and Braining. Below is a video from part of Diaper Rash’s set. For even more videos of SAP, Soap Scum, and Diaper Rash, head over here.

For a second you may have thought there was going to be a Saturday where there wasn’t anything planned to happen at Black Sheep. You were wrong! A week from Saturday, on Saturday, January 31st we will be hosting another hip hop show featuring some great acts and rap battles. Our opening acts include three great solo performers and rap groups including D. Carr, Jayy Willis, and HISO Music Entertainment. Then we have a grand total of four rap battles (wow). If you were around for the last hip hop show with rap battles (the last one had two), you know how crazy things can get. The battles include Relentless vs. Boss Maseiano, Cerius Bars vs. Deezy Alfamega, Tello vs. Savage, and Southside vs. Twitch.

All of that is going to be kicking off right around 7:00, with doors opening then and the show starting sometime between then and 8:00. Admission is $5. Also check out our shows page for a look at what else is coming up at Southtown this year.
