Website Updates

Happy Monday, everyone. We have made a few small updates to our website and webstore recently.

The first is that we finally have a donate button! The donation jar is always set up inside Black Sheep, but if you want to donate towards our cause at any time you can now do it through paypal. The donate button is located on the right —-> if you are on our home page.

If you are on our home page, you may have also noticed that we added a couple of things to the side bar. There is a calendar so you can go back to any day and see the news posts for that day. Then there is also a “top posts and pages” feature that shows the most popular posts and pages in the past 48 hours.

In our store we have added some hand screen printed posters from the November 3rd show for $3. They are available at shows and will be up in our webstore shortly. We have also made the regular posters $1. What a deal!

Artifacts re-opened their store earlier this fall and are located just east of Black Sheep on South Grand. From the “about” section of the Artifacts website:

We currently have 2 stations for working hot glass, with ample room for painters, sculptors, musicians and other artists to collaborate in a creative environment.  Our gallery features rotating exhibits of work from varying artists, and our own collection of acquired works from local and national artists, labels and collectives

Calling All Artists!

We are looking for some new art to go up on our walls and other parts of Black Sheep.  Not just graffiti – this includes especially paintings and murals, but if you are any kind of 3D artist or sculptor then we are interested in instillation pieces as well!  Black Sheep is a community space for everyone and everyone should have the opportunity to add their own touch and artwork to the space.  We do have a few spots and walls in mind that we think need new art pieces more than others.  If interested you can contact us at blacksheepspringfield@gmail.com.  We can work something out and arrange time for anyone to come in and work outside of shows.

Speaking of new art in Black Sheep, some artists have recently made some new additions. We will save most of it a surprise for all of you who come to the show on Friday, but for now here is a little teaser photo.
