It’s a Friday night and we have a show tonight at Black Sheep! It is a five band punk show featuring a few touring acts. For this show we have Say Something– the frantic local punk band that rarely plays shows! Then from Detroit, Michigan we have the band Come Out Fighting. Stream some of their music below. Come Out Fighting last played here at Black Sheep back in January. This time around they will be on tour with a band called “The Purps,” also from Michigan. Then before them we have the Champaign hardcore punk band Fifty Year Storm. And opening things up straight from Springfield is the rowdy punk band, Panzys.

This show will start at 7:00 pm and admission is $5. You can find a facebook event for the show right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page where you can find out what’s going on here in the coming months.

We’ve got a really big hardcore show coming to the Black Sheep Thursday July 30th. Melodic hardcore band Until We Are Ghosts from Rochester, NY and screamo band Threads from Martinsburg, West Virginia are bringing their high energy tour to the Black Sheep stage. Also on board, fresh off of Black Sheep Fest, will be Springfield hardcore band WARRS featuring Black Sheep founder Kevin Bradford.

This is going to be a great chance to get in some mosh madness before the end of summer!!! Check out the Facebook event here and as always check out the other great Black Sheep shows happening on the show page here.

7/11 at Black Sheep: Mikey Hash, D.B. Cooper, Co-Pilots, Habilis Riccardo

Hey all you Black-Sheep goers, it’s time to mark your calendar! We’ll be having an insanely trill show this Friday (yes, that’s 2 days from now), featuring Hip-hop warriors: Mikey Hash and D.B. Cooper, as well as Co-Pilots, and Habilis Riccardo. I can’t say the same for everybody, but if you’re like me, and you like your beats fresh, and your lyrics as real as they get, then hurry down! I promise you that your ears will thank you later for blowing them out to this group of talented young lads. Hell, join the event page on facebook, and invite your friends if you want to.

Be sure to come out this Friday @ 7PM (NO exceptions on lateness!), as it will be $5 at the door. SUPPORT LOCAL ARTISTS! ALSO, the day after @ Black Sheep will be the BATTLE OF THE BANDS, so do yourself a favor, and DON’T miss it! In case you don’t know where to look, here is a list of some more upcoming shows.

Tonight at Black Sheep: PJ Famicom, F///\\\M, King Worm, Swamp Rat

We’ve got a rager coming to you tonight for all you folks who are itching for more shows after Dumb Fest 2. PJ Famicom (of Super Famicom fame) is coming all the way up from Florida on tour to play his infinitely catchy music, which has been cataloged in over 36 releases over the last 12 years as a band! Some of the older punks may remember Super Famicom’s memorable shows back in the pre-Black Sheep days at Breadstretchers.

On the local end of things we have the death-defying solo act F///\\\M erupting over us with a wave of sound that sounds like a full band, complete with several guitars, a drum kit, and an ever-important fog machine. We also have a band that Jessica Knight called “the best band in Springfield” playing their third show ever: King Worm, fronted by local graphic design legend Mike Tirehaus. And opening things up is Swamp Rat, brandishing a brand new tape from local label Ooey Gooey Tapes and still full of adrenaline from their energetic set at Day 2 of Dumb Fest 2.

As always, the show starts at 7 pm and costs $5. Check out a facebook event for the show right here. You kids know the drill. I’ll be there. Your friends will be there (or people you can make friends with). You’ll be there. See you at the show!
