Hey everybody! Our second show goes live in one hour (that’s 4:00 pm for you non-CST people). Don’t forget to tune into 88.3 FM WQNA to catch us chat it up with Tim and Jess of Our Lady (who are playing tonight!). Aren’t near a radio you say or you aren’t in Springfield?! Well, WQNA does a live stream on their website. Now you have no excuse!

Tonight at Black Sheep: Our Lady, The Disappearing Man, Brandon Carnes

So let’s all come out and show our support for a great local band before they leave and play other towns. Tonight is a three-band show but it will be a good one. As mentioned before, Our Lady will be performing before they leave for tour. Then we have The Disappearing Man playing all the way from West Virginia. And opening things up tonight we have Brandon Carnes playing his solo music.

Our Lady will also have a few new items to sell as merch before they leave for tour. They have some special deals going on at the show tonight! The band had this to say:

Today we bring you news of a big metal show happening in March. It has been a while since we have had one of those! The show is happening on Friday, March 15th. We have “For The Fans Tour” coming to Black Sheep featuring the bands The Convalescence, and Kleos! The show will also feature local support from metal act Skywalker. We also have Elyse and Scott Blacula opening things up. It is sure to be a good show!

Our Lady on Black Sheep Radio Tomorrow

Tonight at Black Sheep: Kowabunga! Kid, Hospital Job, Nephrons, Mildred

Kid is on tour from Champaign, Illinois and you should check out their surf-punk tunes. Then we have Hospital Job playing pop punk for you all and they should have their new vinyl for Downer Downer DownerThen Nephrons will be there playing some new tunes as well. And be sure to catch Mildred as they come “back from the dead” and play this show.

Lovecow in the Studio

IMG_0953Lovecow have announced that they have begun recording for a new release at Harm House Basement studios. Singer Cody Jones had this to say:

Seven hours of recording at the f/harmhouse! Needless to say, I have worsening body aches and a scratchy throat. The recordings sound really good so far, though.

We will be sure to keep you all posted on news of new Lovecow recordings and shows in the coming months.

Skeletal Lightning Fest Announced In Champaign

untitled-2A new festival of bands has been announced that will be held in Champaign, Illinois called Skeletal Lightning Fest. You can see the festival’s website here. The festival will be taking place on April 5th and April 6th. Bands playing include Northless, Dowsing, The Reptilian, Tiny Moving Parts, Restore, Thieves, Droughts, Alta, Victor Shores, Locktender, Coma Regalia, Brighter Arrows, Aseethe, Kittyhawk, Foxing, Boilerman, Easter, Natural Disasters, Hank., Enta. For the complete line up, you can head here. More bands are supposed to be announced on the Skeletal Lightning website sometime before the fest.

2/2 @ Black Sheep: Our Lady, This Noise, Mildred

We also have touring act This Noise. They play indie-rock from Evansville Indiana. Then we have Mildred, the three-piece band that is apparently back from the dead.
