7553_358167307636264_1769001589_nToday we are bringing you a stream of ANOTHER EP that is a split between two Springfield bands. There’s been something like one new EP every day this week! The split is of bands Worms and Montagh. Both bands are acoustic duos of sorts. For the Worms side of the split, you can stream the EP on a bandcamp page here and also below.  For the Montagh side of the split, you can head to bandcamp here or also stream below. Montagh (formerly Austin & Austin) recently played at Black Sheep Sunday along with Sean Bonnette of Andrew Jackson Jihad and Ian Graham of Cheap Girls. Obi-Wan Kanblo Mi Release Two New Songs From Upcoming EP

59768_10200797689127608_2052177408_nLong-running Springfield ska-punk band Obi-Wan Kanblo Mi have released two new songs from their forthcoming EP entitled Episode VI: Return of the Red Eyes. They have posted the songs “I Believe in Science” and “I Hate Cops” to their bandcamp page, which are both tracks on the new EP. You can stream those songs on the Obi-Wan bandcamp here or also stream them below. Artwork for the new EP is pictured above. Singer/Saxophone player Chuck had a few words to say on a facebook event page:

Episode VI is mostly inspired by my everyday life and the things I’ve thought about in the past two years since we put out Episode V.

This EP is charged with emotional conflict, progression, and general worriment for the future of our human race.

If you feel like you can get behind some of the ideas that are talked about on this record, that’s great. And if you feel like some of these songs are about you, and you take offense, just do what I have done in the past two years:

Work on becoming a better person.

I’m very excited about this release because of our line-up especially.

I’m sad to tell all of you that this is in fact our saxophone player Drew’s last show with us, as he’ll be moving to Portland soon to start a Master’s program and hopefully make music with our old bass player Earl, but I have to say I’ve had a great time playing music with Drew this past 8 Years, and it’ll will be a very surreal moment when we get on that stage together for the last time.

Along with Drew; Gary, Johnny, and Will all started the band with me in 2009 and here we are 4 years later along with some of the greatest people on Earth: Cody, Elly and Anthony. And it means a lot to me that this wonderful bunch of people has kept the band alive as long as it has been!

We are very excited for you to hear this Record, please come party with us Friday and pick up a free copy, it’ll be a great way to help us celebrate.

Obi-Wan Kanblo Mi will be releasing the physical CD for their new EP at Black Sheep on Friday. Also playing the show will be Coward’s Way Out from St. Louis, Must Build Jacuzzi from Peoria, Lovecow, and a brand new Springfield punk band called RDNT. The show starts at 7:00 pm and admission is $5. You can find the facebook event for the show right here.

Class Picture Added to Day One of Dumb Fest

543893_422988774442657_263438882_nWe thought we were done with Dumb Fest announcement posts, but somehow one more band found their way onto the bill. That one more band is pop/hardcore band Class Picture from Glenwood, Maryland. They will be touring with Arrows In Her in June, who is also playing day one of Dumb Fest.

And a slight change to day two of Dumb Fest- the new Peoria screamo band “Yusuke” will now be replacing Kaworu on day two of Dumb Fest. Kaworu will still be playing at Black Sheep on May 20th along with False Light, Emperor Norton, and a few others.

You can find an updated flier for Dumb Fest here. Dumb Fest is taking place June 14th and 15th this year. Day one (June 14th) features a Renae reunion show and day two (June 15th) features twenty bands playing at Black Sheep and Skank Skates. You can find a facebook event for the fest right here. You can also purchase tickets for two-day passes here (hurry before they sell out!).

Harm House: Records of The Nights

tumblr_ml2pjyeZw51so0jn5o1_1280It looks like the out-of-control house venue going by the name the HARM HOUSE have set up a new tumblr page archiving all of their “record of the night” photos. You can find that page right here. Why is this news? We are not sure. But we do know that some of the record of the night photos feature a few bands that have played at Black Sheep in more recent times and have also possibly spent the night at the HARM HOUSE. Keep checking back for any more info on upcoming house shows at the HARM HOUSE or Radon Lounge.
