Black Sheep Roundtable Recap 4-21

IMG_2139

IMG_2140On Sunday we met up for another one of our bi-weekly roundtable meetings. It was a nice and sunny day outside, so we did some work outside. Some of us also did some work in the haunted basement. Here is a list of what got done:

– took apart our old drum riser outside and gave the wooden leftovers to George.
– got rid of our TV. Sorry guys.
– cleared up more space in our back room and kitchen and sent a lot of unneeded stuff to the basement.
– cleaned up and organized the basement.
– completely cleared our bookshelf in the back room and painted it black.

We also talked about what we want to do with our space for the summer, and possible ideas on what to do with the bookshelf that we cleared and painted. Sounds like a lot of exciting stuff, right? Are you interested in joining us for the next roundtable meeting? Well everyone is welcomed to come to our meetings! We meet every other Sunday at Black Sheep (check back for when the next meeting will be)!

Big Eyes: “Nothing You Could Say”

562192_612145578814191_430186006_nAlthough they are not a Springfield band, we thought we would mention that Seattle’s Big Eyes have released a new song called “Nothing You Could Say” off of an upcoming full length record. Why is this news? Because Big Eyes is one of the headlining bands on this year’s Dumb Fest taking place June 14th and 15th! You can listen to the new song right here or download it for free right here. The song comes from the band’s upcoming album Almost Famous which is due out on May 14th through Grave Mistake Records.

For some older Big Eyes tunes, you can check out their bandcamp page. For some more songs from other bands playing Dumb Fest we have a Dumb Fest page set up where you can find links for every band playing the festival.

Screen shot 2013-04-23 at 1.31.24 AM

Springfield emo/indie band Park have posted more hints of a reunion of sorts on their facebook page since we last mentioned the band was posting photos of band equipment earlier in the year. Yesterday Park linked fans to their band website: listentopark.com. The website does not give out much information, but fans might find more hints by clicking around and highlighting things on the page. Park has also mentioned that more likes on their facebook page may lead to more hints as to what’s going on. Stay tuned for any more information on any sort of news of what’s going on with Park this year.
