Our Lady: “Dawning”

a2571583207_10

Today we are bringing you a stream of the new Our Lady release, Dawning. From the Our Lady bandcamp:

The songs on this E.P. have served as very needed stepping stones for our band that we originally had no intention of taking. They exist as important milestones for us as a group. Emotions presented by the loss of people we truly love and miss in our band is what enabled these songs to exist as they do now. We are no longer the same band after the loss of these people and we can no longer obligate ourselves to songs that were written with different people and for different reasons. This E.P. is being considered the first release by Our Lady. This step has been very scary, and very emotional for us and it has also been very difficult to decide where to go from that position. We are so thankful for everyones support through this weird time for us. We feel very lucky to be able to continue doing this as a full time band, and continue to make new friends, and create music with our best ones. This E.P. is for all our friends, The Blacksheep Cafe, Kevin Bradford, Jessica Knight, Jordan Fein, Alistair Reynolds, Kylie “GUS” McCowen, Algernon Squires, Benny Dewitt, Brian Galecki, Milestshirts.com, Turn Of The Century Records, Mind Over Matter Records, everyone who books shows, goes to shows, put us up on tour, fed us, listened to our dumb jokes, followed us on any social media site, thank you so much. Everything you all do amazes us every day.

Dawning is being released on cassette by Turn of the Century Records based out of Chicago. The cassette will be available at shows during Our Lady’s upcoming tour from May 28th to June 4th. Our Lady will be playing at Black Sheep tomorrow night along with Tiger Tank, Gospel & The Wolf, and Jessica Knight. They will also be playing day two of Dumb Fest on June 15th. Our Lady will also be releasing a 7″ entitled Vessels later this year through Mind Over Matter Records. You can find Dawning streaming below.

Black Sheep Roundtable Recap 5-19-13

milesclownAbove you can see that we finally fixed the moshing clowns problem at Black Sheep at our last roundtable meeting on Sunday. Clowns kept crawling up through the hole in our floor and moshing at shows, so we had to do something about it. Now there will never be any moshing clowns at shows ever again. Together we can keep Black Sheep clown-mosh free.

At Sunday’s roundtable meeting, we were also able to make some better shelves for the bookshelf in our back room, and we painted those shelves. We also moved some more equipment out of our back room so that we would have more room for other things.

Interested in coming to the next Black Sheep roundtable meeting? We decided to switch our meetings to every other Saturday afternoon. The next one will be on Saturday, June 1st at 4:00 pm. You can also check out our get involved page if you are looking for more things that you can do to help out!
