Screen Shot 2015-03-14 at 9.20.30 AM

As you may know, The Black Sheep is hosting the second day of the One Man Band Bonanza happening around town here in Springfield this weekend. We have four one man band acts performing tonight, including acts from Wisconsin, Missouri, Texas, and even Mexico. Springfield paper The State-Journal Register recently did an article about the festival, and talked to coordinator Evan Mitchell about the fest. From the article:

Mitchell, of Taylorville, came up with the idea for the festival when two of his fellow musicians were looking to add a Springfield gig to their American tours. Inspiration soon took hold and Mitchell went to online sites where one-man bands are known to gather to see who else wanted to join the bill.

Over a dozen acts from around the country responded, along with ones from Mexico and Scotland.

You can check out the full article at SJ-R.com right here. Day 2 of the One Man Band Bonanza happens tonight at 7:00 pm at Black Sheep, and day 3 will be happening tomorrow at Homespun Republic. You can also find a short article in weekly publication The Illinois Times about the One Man Band Bonanza.
