Animals With Human Names: “The First Tape”

Today we are coming at you with some brand new local Springfield hip hop coming from the solo project of Jim Whitehead called “Animals with Human Names.” This is AWHN’s first proper release, called The First Tape. Hopefully we can see this release show up in cassette form over at Dumb Records sometime in the near future. You can stream the twelve-track release on the player below. Animals With Human Names will be performing tomorrow night over at Black Sheep as part of our $1 show. That lineup includes Nagasaki, Terribly Happy, Animals With Human Names, Famous Losers, and Kenyon D.

Starlorde: “Starlorde”

Today we bring you the brand new fresh out of the oven four-song debut demo from Springfield space hardcore band Starlorde. You can find that new self-titled demo streaming below. The tape is out today on local Springfield tape label Ooey Gooey Tapes. Also find this release on the Ooey Gooey bandcamp page where you can download it at your own price. Starlorde features members of Vonne, Panzys, and Livin’ Thing.

Physical cassettes will be available at the show tonight with The Bug, Bad Example, and Livin’ Thing. Also will be available at Dumb Records.

Hospital Job: “Never Get Cold”

Today we are bringing you a stream of a brand new album from Springfield band Hospital Job, as featured on For The Love Of Punk. The new album is called Never Get Cold being released on It’s Alive and Rad Girlfriend Records. You should be able to stream the album below. This is Hospital Job’s third LP after Downer Downer Downer in 2012 and The Believer last year in 2014. The band also recently got back from touring Europe and they are one of three Springfield bands (along with Our Lady and Looming) that will be playing Fest in Gainesville, Florida this upcoming weekend.

No Hospital Job shows are currently lined up in Springfield or at Black Sheep but keep your eyes/ears peeled! The LP and CD for Never Get Cold should be available at Dumb Records sometime next month.

Streams: SAP/Person Split

Today we are bringing you a stream of a brand new split release of Springfield band SAP and Chicago band Person. Each band offers four songs in this new split, which is being put out on cassette by Kuloolu Records. The SAP side of the split was recorded right next door at South Town Studio. The cassette release show for SAP will be here at Black Sheep on Saturday, November 14th along with Mary & The Immaculate Rejections, Los Injectors, and Rotten Monster. SAP released Maiden, Mother, Crone on Ooey Gooey Records earlier this year.

Animals With Human Names: “Gravelines / Mighty Healthy”

A brand new Springfield hip hop project called “Animals With Human Names” debuted for the first time at Black Sheep earlier this weekend on Friday night. The project is put together by Jim Whitehead of Say Something, Don’t Mess With Winkie, HK-47, etc. Today we are bringing you two recorded tracks from Animals With Human Names. One is “Gravelines” and the other is “Mighty Healthy (Bong Bong Terrorist Remix)” You can stream “Gravelines” below. Animals With Human Names currently does not have any more live shows lined up, but keep and eye and ear out for more in the future.

Mark Lee Reynolds: “Resorts”

Today we have a stream of a new 6-track release by Mark Lee Reynolds, or “MLR”. Mark is and has been an active member of projects War Magic, Night/Hex, Prescott, Ppleasser, among others. His newest release is called Resorts and you can find it streaming below. You can head over to the MLR bandcamp page where you can also stream the release and download it for $3.

GRINN: “GRINN Again”

Today we have some new music from Springfield/Bloomington hardcore project GRINN. GRINN played at Black Sheep for the first time this past weekend as part of a last minute after show for the Rock N’ Roll Hardee’s concert. There are two new tracks that have been released under the release GRINN AGAIN up on the Ooey Gooey bandcamp page. It looks like GRINN does not have any live shows currently lined up.

GUSH: “Naughty NuFF”

Today we are bringing you the brand new demo from a new Springfield band called GUSH. GUSH features members of plenty of other past and current Springfield punk bands including Asthma, Table Drama, WARRS, and Mouthsex. Their six-track demo is called Naughty NuFF and you can find it streaming below. Also go to the Ooey Gooey bandcamp page to stream the demo and download the tracks at your own price.

The demo will be released on cassette by Ooey Gooey Tapes, and will be first available at the show at Black Sheep one week from today on September 7th with G.L.O.S.S., Asthma, and Garter. More info on that show can be found right here.

Streams: Looming – “Nailbiter”

Today is the big day that Looming‘s debut full-length album Nailbiter is released. We have a big release show lined up tonight with Looming, Park, Hidden Hospitals, and The Choir Vandals. Yesterday the full album went up for stream on Alternative Press. You can check out the article for that along with the album stream right here. Also stream one of the tracks off of the album below. The album is being released through No Sleep Records.

Nailbiter will be available tonight at the show in the form of CD and 12″ vinyl LPs. You can also pick up the album at Dumb Records starting tomorrow. Check out a facebook event for the album release show tonight right here.

Routine: “In The Ring Again”
