Tonight at Black Sheep: The Luzhin Defense, Bumping Uglies

Happy Fry-day! Enjoy some fries and come to this show! Tonight we got The Luzhin Defense, an electronic pop band from right here in our grand hometown. The Bumping Uglies will be coming around, which is a 3 piece experimental electronic band from Austin Texas who’s main mission is to make the ugliest music ever for this ugly world. That’s it, that’s all we need!

The weather is estimated to possibly create a thunderstorm with temperatures ranging between 28 degrees C/ 17 degrees C. So check it out! 5 bucks, 7:00 pm and french fries (BYOFF). Bring it! Tonight at Black Sheep: Nephrons, Hank, Cassfield, Caterpillar Club

Get stoked! It’s gonna be a good show tonight. Here’s whats goin’ down. We’ll have the awesome local 90’s sounding punk band Nephrons. This is going to be the day of their Black Bedroom record release! Check out the 411 on that right here. Emo noodle punks Hank. will also be joining us! They are an experimental, indie emo band from Champaign and they are stoping by Springfield as a part of their summer tour. Cassfield will be coming at us from the east coast with some far out, techno tunes, and some type of performance art. Last but not least, local sludge-gazing band Caterpillar Club will be joining us too!

The weather is estimated to be partly cloudy between 29 degrees C/ 20 degrees C. Show up at 7:00 pm and have 5 dollars in your hand! We have a bunch of fun shows coming up in August! This is one of them!!! This show’s full of some great local bands, but not all of them are from here! we have an art-punk band from La Crosse, WI called 64 Squares. Opening things up, we have local rock group Haircut Actual, who will be making a return to Black Sheep after their set at The Black Sheep Battle of the Bands. Closing up the show, we have local/Jacksonville psychedelic rock group Flamingo, and ambient rock and rollers, Naughtalus.

August 10th at Black Sheep: Dead North, Meredosia, State Lines, No Good News, War Magic

We have ANOTHER show in August coming up soon! This one is jam-packed full of great bands! Opening things up, we have War Magic, a local ambient, folk band playing their first show at the Black Sheep! Next up we have No Good News bringing the pop punk and State Lines bringin’ the sad jams, both hailing from Long Island. Then, we have local post-rock anthem makers, Meredosia. Closing things up, we have North Dead, a pop punk band from Ohio! You can check out their stuff below!

The show starts at 7:00 pm and admission is $5. Before the show, though, there is a short “manitee” show (which is free) that Execution Techniques is performing starting at 6:00 pm so make sure you get there early! August 9th at Black Sheep: Sleeping Cranes, Jess Knight, Mr. Chandler, Atlas At His Finest, Wir Konnen

We got a realllll mellow show for you all coming up in a couple weeks! First up, we have touring from Wyoming, an indie/folk band called Sleeping Cranes. We’ve got some of their stuff streaming down below. Then we have good ol’ Jess Knight performing her solo set! We also have the rap stylings of Mr. Chandler from right here in Springfield, IL. We also have local acoustic/alternative duo Atlas At His Finest. Then, opening things up, we have a new local emo group called Wir Konnen, which features members of Montagh and Lovecow!

Tonight at Black Sheep: Off With Their Heads, The Timmys, NIL8, RDNT

Tonight’s the big one! (Of course Battle of the Bands last weekend was also the big one, and Black Sheep Fest next weekend is another big one). The show tonight should still be one of the biggest and most fun shows this summer! Why? Because we have really awesome bands playing! We have Off With Their Heads from Minnesota coming! They were supposed to play here back in March but sadly had to drop. Tonight they are going to make it back to Springfield with a great set filled with tons of fun. They will be joined by a great lineup of local bands! The Timmys will be playing the show before Off With Their Heads. Before that is long-running punk band NIL8! NIL8 have not played a show in Springfield since December. Opening up the show is the teenage punk band RDNT.

The show kicks off at 7:00 pm and doors are at 6:30 pm. Admission is $8 unless you have already pre-ordered tickets for $6. Tonight at Black Sheep, we have a pretty exciting show for you all! We have 3 bands from out of town! First, we have Withershins, a Shoegaze band from Champaign, IL. You can check out their stuff down below! Then we have Werepire Day from Bloomington, IL, which plays what they describe as “90’s-leaning fuzz anthems”. Next, we have a hard rock group from Collinsville, IL, Dibiase. We also have local alt-rock group Boon, and Pop-Punk group Kickstart!

August 21st at Black Sheep: Soap Scum, Cross Me, Wolf Luv, IAMIAM, Gazeebo

We have a hardcore show coming up in August! It’s gonna feature only the scummiest of all bands, Soap Scum. Also playing, we have two bands not from around these parts. First, we have Cross Me which is a hardcore band from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Then we have Wolf Luv from Champaign, which features members from Need. Opening up the show, we have two noise projects. One, named IAMIAM which features a member from Montagh, and another, named Gazeebo

Show announcement! It looks like on Friday, August 2nd we will be having an electronic/dance show (which is something that hasn’t happened for way too long)! This show will feature Springfield’s very own Luzhin Defense. The Luzhin Defense released their long-time coming brand new self-titled album recently through bandcamp, which you can find right here. Next up we have weirdo-experimental electronic music from Austin, Texas going by the band name of The Bumping Uglies. You can check out some of their music on the player embedded below. Opening the show up is Springfield’s favorite two-piece goofball dance band And God Said Dance. You may recognize the members from Emperor Norton or Aporia.

Tonight at Black Sheep, we have a very mixed genre show! We have two touring bands, Free At Last and Baldknobber. Free At Last is a hardcore band from Springfield, Missouri on Dog Years Records. Baldknobber is also a hardcore band from Springfield, Missouri. Opening things up, we have Aporia (harsh noise brought to you by Jeff Brown of And God Said Dance), and local troublemaker Bo Mellado of Mildred and Meredosia. Speaking of Meredosia (Post-rock/Ambient feels), they’re playing too! They will be closing up the show.
