Good morning everyone on this beautiful day! We were a little late on opening our store up just now admittedly probably because Marbin rocked / jazz fushion’d so hard in here least night that we’ve been trying to recoup. We better get back on track quick because we’ve got another one lined up at Bread Stretchers tonight featuring two touring acts this time around!! One coming from upstate New York – “Science Man” which features members of Dumb Fest 6 band Radiation Risks. Also on tour (but not touring together) is a newer group from Chicago called Dendrons. They just have one song up online, which you can find streaming on the player below. We are lucky to have support from the psychedelic noise project “Schedule One” and also the one man band “Lord Mitchell“, both of which will be playing at Bread Stretchers Gourmet Sub Shop for the first time in their entire lives.

This show starts at 7:00 pm tonight and admission this time is $6. Check out a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a good look at what else is coming up at Bread Stretchers in the near future.

Tonight we’re not exactly sure what we are in for – it might be a big one over at the recently reunited legendary Springfield sub shop venue Bread Stretchers right next door to us. If any of you remember the jazz fushion group Marbin that came through Black Sheep last year and blew us all away, they will be returning tonight! Check out their Wikipedia page right here to learn more about the group, which features two brothers from Israel (pictured above) who are now based out of Chicago. This time they will be touring with a solo musician who is opening up the show and that is Ben Delaurentis from Virginia. Check out some of Marbin’s music on the player below.

This one starts at 7:00 pm. If you got a ticket in advance we will likely have your name on a list at the door, if not, it’s $15 admission. Find a facebook event here. Also check out our shows page for what else is coming up at Bread Stretchers which is located near 4th and Monroe or 4th and a halfth streets downtown or something like that.

Happy April Fools Day everyone. We are happy to announce a very last minute show happening tonight downtown right next door to us at Bread Stretchers. Why? How? We can’t tell you. But we can tell you that these acts will be playing. Bottom Bracket – the only full band on the bill at the top of the lineup. Stream their music on the player below. Cornbread – local rapper, been around doing his thing for quite some time now. Nice. Eric Marvel – solo electronic / new wave music project. Then Jessica Knight – of the band Looming doing a solo set. And, Brandon Carnes – of the band Midnight Fall doing a solo set. Nice. Those five acts take the Bread Stretcher stage tonight.

This all starts at 7:00 pm. Where? Bread Stretchers is near the corner of 4th and Monroe downtown. Find a facebook event right here. Also check out our shows page where we are going to work on what else is coming up at Bread Stretchers.

Look at those guys up there! ^^^ Is that the telly-tubbies? No! For those of you who have been around the music scene for a very long time (3-5 years), may remember those guys playing at Black Sheep in… 2015(?) and before then at Skank Skanks for a rare show in 2014. They are a band called Masked Intruder from Wisconsin, and they are playing across the street from our new location at Bar None (245 S 5th Street) tonight! Yes, the show is ages 21+ but we figure any show at Bar None is worth mentioning on our site here especially since they are our new neighbors. Also playing this show are local punk rock legends The Timmys – and also another rare performance by Hospital Job – playing one of their first local shows since putting out their new album Haze Like Me!

That show kicks off tonight at Bar None. We can’t figure out how much money that it costs to get in, we think $10. Find a facebook event right here. Also check out our Springfield shows page if you are thirsty for more live music while you wait for our new venue’s doors to open.

Tonight at Black Sheep: Park, Earth Witch, Bottom Bracket, Nectar, Kate Laine, Sadface Killer

1

TONIGHT – tonight is the night of one of the biggest final Black Sheep shows we have lined up, and the seventh last show at Black Sheep ever. We have a mega-stacked lineup tonight featuring some different genres. Have you listened to PARK? Popular emo band primarily active in Springfield from 1996-2007, then reunited in 2013 and have released a 10″ record and performed a handful of big shows since then. Park will be performing on the Black Sheep stage once again for this show, and we are happy to have them. We are also excited to welcome the return of Earth Witch – a band not as active in our area due to Nathan Landolt of Error Records / Hand of Death Records moving away to North Carolina a few years back. Stream Earth Witch’s newest album on the player below. Right in the middle of the lineup is Springfield emo band Bottom Bracket. More friends from Champaign are coming with the band Nectar. Before that is a performance by indie artist Kate Laine. And opening things up is Sadface Killer, emo from the Peoria area. Wow.

Those are a lot of bands. Because of all of those bands, this show will start at 6:30 pm on the dot. Tickets are $15 at the door if you didn’t get tickets in advance. Yes, you can still pay for entry at the door. Find a facebook event for this mega-gig right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a list of shows coming up at Black Sheep the rest of this year.

Tonight at Black Sheep: Graveswitcher, No Cash Value, MAC, Prowess

Woooo!!! We are down to EIGHT final shows happening at Black Sheep starting with this one tonight, and those eight shows are going to be spread out over the next two weeks. Tonight is going to be a wild and wacky punk show! We have Graveswitcher – the loud and crushing new hardcore band featuring members of many other local groups. We also have Prowess – this will be their last set inside Black Sheep so surely something goofy will happen, right? Also MAC – the punk rock group that released an EP earlier this fall. Last but not least is No Cash Value – back and better than ever with a brand new lineup.

This show will start at 7:00 pm and admission is just $5. No reason not to come out and have a good time! Check out a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a good look at what all is coming up at Black Sheep before we shut our doors at the end of the month and begin a big move.
