Oh you thought we were done with our August show announcements? Not so fast. There is one happening on Saturday, August 31st the very last day of the month. It’s a short and sweet one, but also a special one because it will be a music video shoot for one of Prevention‘s songs. Just like this. The song the music video is for is their song “Another World.” We are supposed to tell you to learn the words, practice singing along, and your dance moves before the show at home. Also on this show is Brute Force from the Southern Illinois / St. Louis area. Opening things up is Blushe.

This show starts at 7:00 pm and admission is $5, you just can’t beat that. Check out a facebook event for the show right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a good look at what else we’ve got coming up at Bread Dumb Records in the future!

Happy Thursday to all of you out there following what we do here at The Bread Factory / Dumb Records. Sorry we are all over the place with website posts lately. Today we are telling you about a show coming up in a little less than a month and our first one being announced for September. Fun! This is a weird one because there is a band on the bill that we can not officially announce yet, but we CAN tell you that it is a band that’s coming from overseas. That’s exiting, right? Don’t worry, it will be good. That band is touring with another band from Philadelphia called Teenage Bigfoot that we can tell you about. In fact, you can even stream their music on the player below. This show will be joined by local support from local favorite solid group Starter Jackets, and also solid solid group Bottom Bracket.

All of this starts at 7:00 pm and admission will be $10. Check out a facebook event for this show right here. Also check out our shows page for a look at everything else coming up at our show space downtown.

Oh, what’s this? We have a show happening coming up on Friday, August 16th to tell you about in exactly two weeks at our space. It’s just a three band show, and will surely get over by ALL of our bedtimes. We got a band called “Nasty Boys” from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Looks like it’s a duo of two guys. What makes them so nasty??? Come to the show to find out. And stream their music on the player below. Also on this show is Springfield hardcore band Final Order. Opening things up looks like dug up from the grave is GRINN… a band we have not seen or heard or anything since… Dumb Fest #5 back in 2017? Well we’ll be darned. Looks like they are playing at Buzzbomb Brewery tonight as well.

This show starts at 7:00 pm and admission will be $5. Check out a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page to take a look at what else is going on at our space in the near future!

hiphopshowtest.jpg

This one may be a pretty last minute announcement from our end, but we’ve got a pretty stacked lineup for the next hip hop show happening at our space on Saturday, August 10th. There are six acts performing from the area. At the top of the bill is Meezy Killafield, who has been making a splash as a rapper from our area recently. He released an album – “The Killafield Chronicles” within this past year. Also on this show is DreTheGuy aka “DeAndre”, another hip hop artist who has performed at The Radon Lounge and also recently Rock N’ Roll Hardee’s. He just dropped an album called “Lapis Effect” just a few weeks ago. Then we got 4usten… what’s up with the “A” in this guy’s name being a “4”? Come to the show and find out. For some of his set he will be joined by Brayden Schmohe. Pictured on the flier and also playing from Decatur is the rap duo “WeBackSoon Music Group“. You can also find them streaming on the player below. Also is more of an R&B act called “Torch_Nation“, familiar to a number of the Dumb Records and Black Sheep open mics. Great to finally get him on a show! Opening things up is A Da Real, another young up and coming artist we are pretty sure from Springfield High School. Nice.

For this show we are saying doors are at 7:00 pm and we are starting things at 7:30 pm. Admission is $5. Check out a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a good list at what else is coming up at Dumb Bread in the near future.

Today we have a pretty big last minute show going on to tell you about. It’s actually just two weeks from tomorrow happening on Friday, August 9th! Wow! This one is going to be the last ever show for local band Rockford! The last time Rockford played was the final final last ever Black Sheep show back in December. This will be their first time performing at our new space and their last show before some of them depart off to college and different cities into the big world. Good luck to all of them. Stream their music one last time on the player below. Also playing this show is Rockford’s long time friends The Telephone Junkies. And opening things up we have the return of another band we have not seen in quite a minute – Sorry Charlie!

All of this starts at 7:00 pm that night and admission is $5. Check out a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page to see what else is coming up in the near future at our space.

Time for us to tell you about another show going on in August in about a month! This one is on Saturday, August 24th and features a couple of acts performing at our space for the first time. Chance Reiniesch is a vocalist / musician from Gillespie, Illinois (pretty close to here) and is having this one as his big album release show. The flier up there says record release but we are fairly certain the album will be available on CD. We don’t have any music of Chance’s available to share with you right now but we will soon. Also on this show and playing our new spot for the first time is local rock group Rather Dashing. Looks like opening things up is a performance by Springfield’s own smooth beach pop artist, Kenyon DeShasier.

Ahhhhh. Check out a facebook event for this one right here. Start time is 7:00 pm and admission is $7. Also be sure to look at our shows page for a look at what else is coming up! Bye!

Looks like we’ve got the first metal band lined up in the new space(?), with Eyes From Above from in and around the area. Nice. The touring band on this show is Baltic To Boardwalk from Fargo, North Dakota, which is actually a band that has played Black Sheep some years ago. Stream some of Baltic To Boardwalk’s music on the player below. We’ve also got the Alton, Illinois emo group Reaver playing at the new spot for the first time (they had played Black Sheep a good number of times as well). Opening things up is hard and nasty hardcore group from right here in Springfield, Graveswitcher.

Good morning and welcome to another brand new week! Hopefully we are on top of things with website posts and bringing you some top of the line content this week! Today we have a show to tell you about happening on Wednesday, July 31st at our spot. Drew says this is a last minute show, but we don’t think it’s that last minute. It’s still over two weeks away, you have plenty of time to plan what you are going to wear to this very solid hardcore show. For this show we have the band “Crafter” coming all the way from Massachusetts. Stream their music on the player below. Final Order from right here in Springfield will also be playing this show. ALSO on this show is a band called Soul Craft from St. Louis. Soul Craft features members of old Champaign/Urbana hardcore band Commodity that were around in the late 2000’s / early 2010’s that none of you probably remember. Opening things up is the new Springfield hardcore band everyone has been talking about, “Black Box.”

This one starts at 7:00 pm and only costs $5. You just can’t beat that. Check out a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our Bread Sheep shows page to see what else is coming up at our spot this summer right here.

July 26th & 27th at Bread Sheep: Midnight CD Release / Downhome Music Festival Aftershows

downhomeaftershow4.jpg

Get ready because this evening we are going to throw a lot at you for some surprise shows happening at our space later this month. This is a joint announcement for TWO shows happening at our space – BOTH are aftershows for Downhome Music Festival on July 26th and 27th, BOTH are happening right at midnight (crazy, we know), and BOTH are CD release shows for two different local artists. This is just getting too wild. Let’s break it down for each show:

The first night of Downhome Music Festival is Friday, July 26th. There will be a show at our space at midnight that night It will be a CD release show for Dexter‘s new album Weeping Venus. We are excited. You can check out the first song from that album right here. Also playing is Jeff Williams of NIL8. That show is just $3 and it’s all ages of course.

Then the next night is Saturday, July 27th (yes we are aware since we are talking midnight here it would technically be the 28th). For this one we have local grunge rockers Master Bastard‘s CD release for their new album which we have been told is being called Drinking With Children. Also on that show is Taylorville 90’s rock group Stick People, and the brand brand new surf band that’s been making splashes, Snuff Rider. Another $3, all ages show!

Both of those shows are starting right at midnight, both are all ages, and both are $3. We’ll be getting facebook events up for both of those right away. Oh, and no beer in our space for any of those. Sorry. Check out our shows page to see what else is coming up at our space this summer.
