Today we bring you a stream of some more new local music… this time the pop punk group Starter Jackets have a new split 7″ out with Ohio-based band The Raging Nathans. Starter Jackets released their full album Decisions back in 2018, and we have copies of that in our store on vinyl as well.

Happy Friday everybody, T.G.I.F. And now… the moment you have all been waiting for. Local hip hop artist Vinal Luciano has released the sequel to his break through album, Growing Pains… that’s right, it’s Growing Pains 2. You can find the album streaming at many different streaming services (none that we can embed here unfortunately) over on Vinal’s website.

We did however embed one of Vinal Luciano’s brand new music videos for another single off the album, and that is for the song “Adios.” You can check that out below. This video was shot by Yaniboy. And of course we have added Growing Pains 2 to our list on our Springfield album archive page.

Today we bring you the brand new, full-length album from long time running local hip hop act, “Xtortion Da Don”. This is Xtrotion’s second full length album, entitled The Eargasm. Xtortion had released his previous album Smoke in the City four years ago, which we do have copies of on CD in our store. You bet we are also adding this one to our Springfield album archive page.

Here we are once again reporting with yet another release from local solo musician Mark Schwartz during these times. This one is a whole 21 track release entitled Year Of The Rat and you can find that streaming on the player below. Today we bring you a brand new six-track release from Carlinville-based rapper, 36 N Brimstone. That is 36’s Anaxphobia Chapter 1: Roadshow, which you can find streaming on the player below. 36 Brimstone is affiliated with music collective DB Entertainment and has performed at our space a couple of times in the recent past. Today we are reporting with yet another Mark Schwartz solo album. This one is called The Atomic Trilogy & Other Pieces. You can find it streaming on the player below. A description of this release from Mark’s bandcamp page:

This release features the three-piece work, “The Atomic Trilogy,” as well as four other long-form computer compositions. Several of these utilize minimalist composition techniques and are influenced by krautrock. All works were composed during or around 2003.

What do you know! While we weren’t looking it looks like Springfield solo musician Kenyon DeShasier released a brand new album! That album is called My Dream Girl and you can find it streaming on that player embedded below. Also head on over to Kenyon’s youtube page where you can find it streaming as well as the good amount of other albums Kenyon has released.

Happy Father’s Day everyone. Here is yet another local release that has recently came out yet again from Mark Schwartz. This is Mark’s fifth solo release of the whole entire pandemic. Mark also has recording projects under the names Demons on Wheels, Forest Saints, and Tin Ghost. We are also adding this release on to this year in our Springfield album archive.

Today we bring you some brand new music coming out of these quarantine times from Decatur, from a project we know next to nothing about. This project is called “Riddle” – this album art may look confusing at first – no, the Springfield hardcore band GUSH is not making a return (as far as we know). This is a new 7-track EP by “Riddle” out of Decatur called Gush. You can check it out streaming on the player below.
