The Radon Lounge is not having a lot of shows this fall, so we thought it would be important to mention this one on Sunday, October 6th. Don’t forget there is another show coming up at The Radon Lounge later this month on September 26th featuring Brian Lee & His Orchestra, Cantalouper, and Hushpad. The October 6th show is sure to be a lot of fun. It features the three-piece folk band Families from Chicago. You can check out one of their videos below. Before them there will be a performance by Kevin Schlereth. He is a touring solo folk-rock musician from St. Louis. Opening the show up will be Lyzza Barth, who will be performing some real spoken word.

September 26th at The Radon Lounge: Spoken Nerd, Brian Lee & His Orchestra, Cantalouper, Hushpad

Sept-2013Tomorrow is September! That means there are plenty of great shows coming up in Springfield very soon. Earlier we told you about a bunch of shows coming up soon at Springfield house venue The Radon Lounge. Today we bring you details for a show happening there on Thursday September 26th along with this sweet flier with watermelon on it. The show features Spoken Nerd, who has a cool video with more watermelon embedded at the bottom of this post. The show is also the return of Brian Lee & His Orchestra, who played at The Radon Lounge earlier this year. On tour with Brian Lee is a one-man shoegaze project called Cantalouper! Opening the show up and also playing shoegaze is Hushpad from Lincoln, Illinois.

Radon Lounge Announce More Shows

944719_602731929737339_446427384_nThe Radon Lounge have announced a few shows that they will be putting on between now and the end of the fall. The Springfield house venue are deciding to take a break in August, but they are still active setting up shows on later dates and planning big things for the future.

The first show is being put on by The Radon Lounge and The Harbor, but it is being held at Lakeside Christian Church on August 14th. The show features Adam Strumpel and Dan Arseneau and friends. You can find more information on that one here.

The next show happening at The Radon Lounge is on September 26th, which will feature Spoken Nerd, Brian Lee & His Orchestra, Cantalouper, and Hushpad. Then if we skip ahead all the way to October we will find a show on October 6th with Families and Kevin Schlereth! Then if we look wayyy into the future we see that The Radon Lounge is planning a Bob Dylan cover show of some sorts on November 9th. And of course after that they plan on continuing their tradition of putting on a “Christmas Explosion” show sometime around the holidays.

Tonight at The Radon Lounge: Lowder, Lapland, Big Storm

Tonight there is a show happening over at our good friends The Radon Lounge. The Radon is one of Springfield’s newer house venues that has taken on doing DIY shows. There is a show going on there at 7:00 tonight and you should go! The first band we have to tell you about is Springfield’s own rock band Lowder. Then there will be a performance by a touring solo project called Lapland. You can find some of his music streaming on the bandcamp player below. Opening the show up is Springfield’s own Big Storm. Big Storm is a feel-good rock band featuringBrandon Carnes and a few other musicians. They will also be playing Black Sheep Fest on July 27th.

JulyPosterIt has been a little while since we have gotten to tell you all about any shows going on at Springfield’s house venue The Radon Lounge. This is probably because Jeff and the Radon crew were busy earlier this summer with The Horse Show, which we hear was a great success. The show we are telling you about today will be happening on Sunday, July 14th. We have also heard that this will be The Radon’s only show until September, so let’s make sure to make it to this one and have some fun! Are you ready to hear what bands are playing? Here we go! The first band we have to tell you about is Springfield’s own rock band Lowder. Then there will be a performance by a touring solo project called Lapland. Horse Show Promo Video

With all of the Dumb Fest news and announcements we have been posting, we feel it is important to remind you all that there is another big festival happening around Springfield on June 15th (one week from today). That is The Horse Show, put together by The Radon Lounge and held at The Refuge Ranch just outside of Springfield. Above you can see a video explaining the point and purpose of The Horse Show as well as some things to expect at the festival.

The Horse Show is taking place from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm next Saturday at The Refuge Range. The full lineup of bands can be seen at The Radon Lounge’s Horse Show page on their website. The festival is also donation-based.

Tonight at The Radon Lounge: The Soil & The Sun, Kellen & Me, Trouper

There’s a big indie/folk-rock show happening tonight at The Radon Lounge! Tonight’s show features The Soil And The Sun– an indie band from Michigan with eight members. They will be arriving in a big bus because there are so many of them! You can stream some of their songs on the bandcamp player at the bottom of this post. Also playing The Radon Lounge tonight is Kellen & Me, which is a one-man electric/indie/folk project from Chicago. And the first act that will be playing tonight is Trouper, which is a newer duo from Mansfield, Ohio.

The show starts off at 7:00 pm and admission is $8. You will have to email radonlounge@gmail.com if you do not know the address to the house. You can find a facebook event for the show right here. May 1st at The Radon Lounge: Lucius, Tall Tall Trees, Derrick Streibig

476_583060951704437_1057114150_nIt looks like The Radon Lounge will be having another show thing spring! This one is on Wednesday, May 1st. The show will feature Lucius, a five-piece band from Brooklyn, NY. They will be joined by the band Tall Tall Trees also from New York. They play an Americana type of folk rock. The third and final act that will be opening things up will be Derrick Streibig from St. Louis.

The Radon Lounge has also been gearing up for a show on April 4th featuring the ten-piece band The Soil & The Sun. The Radon Lounge also will be putting on a festival called “The Horse Show” on June 15th at the Refuge Range. We know, we know, it’s the same day as Dumb Fest, but there is no reason you can’t stop by both!
