Hey it’s the beginning of the week, and also the month of May so we better kick off the month right and start delivering you more fresh local music content right here on our site. Today we have a brand new page up on our site for the local project Weeping Iniquity. If you head over to the newly created page right here you can check out some new music from the project and also learn a thing or two more on what it’s all about. Weeping Iniquity will be performing at Dumb Fe5t on Saturday, June 10th just a little more than one month away! Related project Gutterpriest will also be doing a special set during our cover show on Saturday, May 13th.

Tonight we are bringing you a new band page for a project that has been playing shows for a good number of years at Black Sheep now, and that is the solo noise and grindcore project Gutterpriest. Check out that new page right here where you can listen to the project’s latest cassette release and find out more info. Bring on the noise in 2017.

Gutterpriest does not have any shows lined up currently but related project Weeping Iniquity (new page for that coming soon) will be performing here on Monday, April 17th with the band Futuro from Brazil. We’ll have an official announcement for that show shortly.

Also very unrelated to gutterpriest, but we will be showing a horror movie of some sort from the Dumb Records VHS collection inside Black Sheep on a projector screen tonight at 11:00 pm if anyone is looking for something to do!

This week we are bringing you another band page from a local band that is long overdue, and that is for the three-piece (now four-piece?) and formerly two-piece driving punk rock project “Sammy and The Punk” which has been active playing shows in the area since 2011. You can stream the band’s newest album Alien Abduction and find out more about the band on their new page right here. Sammy and The Punk do not have any shows announced right now but be on the lookout for something from them at Black Sheep very very soon!

First new band page of 2017 right here and it’s one that is long overdue! Today we bring you a page for the local Springfield ambient project Pretend I’m Not There– the solo (and sometimes full band) project led by B.J. Pearce of a number of different bands. Check out the new band page right here to learn more about the project and stream some of Pretend I’m Not There’s music. Right n0w there are no shows lined up for P.I.N.T. as far as we know. The project’s release Transient did make it on to our list of top ten Springfield releases of 2016.

It’s been a minute since we’ve added any new current band pages to our roster and we are going to try to start getting back to that once a week here at blacksheepspringfield.com! This week we are brining you a brand new band page for the jammy rock band The Good Companions, from right here in Springfield. You might remember them as the band that covered Television for our Black Sheep Cover Show this past spring. Today we are bringing you a HOT new band page for the hardcore project put together by Austin Connelly (Wir Können, Montagh, Swamp Rat) called GRINN. GRINN has been around for a minute, but has recently started playing shows under a new lineup. Stream some of their music and learn more about the band on their newly created band page right here. GRINN just played the Black Sheep 11 year anniversary show but currently do not have any other shows lined up.

It’s been a minute since we’ve brought you a brand new band page on our site. That doesn’t mean there has been a shortage of new Springfield bands forming though. We’ve got some catching up to do, and we are starting today with the new fuzzy power-poppy punky band Attic Salt! Attic Salt do not have any recorded music yet, but you can check out their new band page on our site and read more about them on their new page right here. Also check out a video of the band playing live at their last show right here. Attic Salt currently does not have any more shows lined up, but we will make sure to let you know when they do!
