This Man Is 2 Megadeths Deep And Says I Have a Bad Attitude

We just had a great Record Store Day. The biggest one yet. I know we say that every year, but it is true

People lined up at both stores and were not stopped by the overnight storms and the cold that followed

We were happy to see many walk away with what they were hoping to get.

People are learning the mall store is just as packed with the goods as downtown and the lines were almost equal. Let’s do it again next year!

Anyway, we can’t take a break just yet, there’s still a lot going on this week.

Here are the new vinyls dropping this Friday:

– NOAH KAHAN with “The Great Divide” – double LP, there are actually THREE different vinyl variants that we are getting for this including rust-colored, an indie exclusive brown, and an indie exclusive “cigarette smoke” vinyl. We will be taking pre-orders for these at the advance listening party tonight!
– FOO FIGHTERS with their 12th studio album “Your Favorite Toy” we will have on red vinyl!
– Oh and you know the MICHAEL JACKSON biopic is dropping this weekend, so we will have the vinyl available!
– RINGO STARR (85 years old) has a NEW ALBUM of original material out called “The Long Road” and we will have copies on vinyl!
– The Elvis Presley “EPiC: Elvis Presley In Concert” from Elvis live in Vegas will be available as well on vinyl!

This week Pepperoni picked Disintegration

“I want to wish a very special 67th birthday to my good friend Robert Smith! This is his band The Cure’s 1989 album, Disintegration. Their eighth studio album, (and it’s a long one at an hour and twelve minutes) was the bands return to a darker / gothier side compared to their previous couple of albums. Some claim it to be their best album (Jeff tells me this was a running bit on South Park). The hits on this one include “Lullaby,” “Lovesong,” and “Pictures Of You.” Pick up a copy at Dumb and Dumber Records if you are looking to build your collection of The Cure!”

Also this Thursday at the Mall we are hosting an Advanced Listening party for the new American Football album.

Plus we just hosted an Advanced Listening party for Noah Kahan’s new album on Tuesday where over 50 people came out to listen to the new album for the first time and get a free poster.

And this Saturday we are hosting a benefit show downtown for Intricate Minds. I assume this show will be hardcore flavored.

You’re invited to Walk in the Parade With Us Saturday

2 hardcore shows are happening at our place this week plus we’re taking the elephant out to the St. Patrick’s day parade Saturday. We welcome all you St. Patricks Day Tourists who come in for your annual trip downtown to ask us if records are still around while you spill your drinks on them.

Thursday we have a hardcore show featuring Surfaced from Louisville, Out 4 Blood from Minneapolis, Blistered Spirit from St Louis and locals Subversion and Javelin.

Then on Saturday we have this other hardcore show featuring Gnaw from Missouri, Security Footage from Missouri, plus locals Prevention, War and Rumor, and Bruxism. Side note when I was at the downtown retailer meeting, they were asking if any of the stores were holding events. I think they were talking about sidewalk sales and wine tastings so I didn’t say anything.

On to Vinyl Release Friday!

– NOAH KAHAN with the “Cape Elizabeth EP”! This was a Record Store Day release for Black Friday this past year and in high demand. Well it’s back, baby.
– CAKE “Pressure Chief” – Cake re-issues been going down their discography and we are to their 5th album released in 2004
– KACEY MUSGRAVES with her 6th studio album “Deeper Well”
– BLACK CROWES have a new album “Happiness Bastards”
– A reissue of Sum 41’s 2019 album “Order In Decline”
– JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE has a brand new album “Everything I Thought It Was”

This week Pepperoni has picked Noah Kahan’s “Stick Season”

“This week I’ve picked an artist that sure has blown the heck up recently… Noah Kahan. With his album from last year, “Stick Season”. We had it when it came out, but around Christmas time everyone wanted it and it was out of print for a while, but now it’s back. Jeff says this guy just sounds like Mumford & Sons. His second album is also being released for Record Store Day and I can say that it’s what we ordered the most copies of.”
