Videos: “Operation Dumb Elephant: Making The Big Move”

Screen Shot 2016-11-16 at 6.14.58 PM.png

A couple of months ago now thanks to your help and support – Brian Galecki and Dumb Records was able to purchase a life-sized elephant from Springfield Autobody in town and begin an incredible journey down a path of dreams. Operation Dumb Elephant was announced in July, raised enough funds to purchase the elephant in August – and then the big move took place on September 21st all of this year. Since then the elephant has been painted bright green and just yesterday we announced plans to take our new friend in the Springfield Jaycee’s Downtown Christmas Parade on Saturday, November 21st.

Somewhere in there some video footage was taken by our friend Jeremie Bailey of Lincoln’s Legends and he was kind enough to compile it all into this five-minute long film. Check that out below. Enjoy!

New Springfield hip hop and R&B isn’t something we usually are ahead of on covering on our site (although we do host occasional hip hop and rap shows at Black Sheep). Today we are brining you a new music video by local Springfield artist and also Southtown resident Jayy Wills that is just too good for us not to share. You can check out Jayy’s new video for his song “Boulevard” on the player below. The video features shots from all over Springfield including some slo-mo action and some fancy drone footage.

The video was shot in collaboration with HISO Music.

Things are getting wild over at Dumb Records. Elephants are being bought, and the store is now set up with a more permanent PA system so loud and reckless punk shows can happen. GRINN will be performing next at Black Sheep on September 16th as part of our 11 year anniversary show. More info on that coming later tonight. Also check out our vids/pics page for a look at more videos of touring and local bands playing in Southtown for the past 10+ years.
