Today we have a brand new stream from a new Champaign band that we feel is worthy of mentioning. They are called Slam Dinner, and although they are based out of Champaign/Urbana the band does feature Mario Cannamela originally from Springfield and member of Soap Scum, I’m Dead Inside, and Wir Können. We are streaming the band’s five-song self-titled EP below, which was recorded right here by Brandon Carnes of South Town Studio. You can also head over to the band’s bandcamp page where you can download the whole EP at your own price.

Streams: Rat King Records Cassingle Series

ratkingcassinglescolor

Nearby Champaign/Urbana-based record label Rat King Records has launched a stream of a pretty nifty “cassingle series” earlier this week. Although Rat King Records is not a Springfield label, and none of the acts based in the series are really from Springfield, we though the series was worth noting especially since three of the acts involved performed at this year’s past Dumb Fest 2 in South Town. The artwork for the series was also done by Springfield’s own Brian Galecki (pictured above). The series features bands Easter, Nnamdi Ogbonnaya, Saturday Looks Good To Me, and Cal & The Calories. You can find all four cassingles streaming on players below. Head over to the Rat King Records bandcamp where you can download all of these at your own price. The physical copies will also be available very soon at Dumb Records.
