Tonight is going to be one of the heavier shows Black Sheep has had in minute. Get ready for a night of stoner metal, hardcore, and punk. Tonight we have hardcore punk band Anomaly coming from Chicago and playing Springfield as their tour kickoff show. You can find their newest demo  streaming below. We also have another performance by Swamp Rat, who just played the last two shows that happened at Black Sheep. Also on tour on A389 Records is the metal band Seraphim. Come check out what they are all about. Then there is the first performance of the whole entire year by Springfield stoner shoegaze band Caterpillar Club. Before that we will get to finally see Peoria dirty band Dirt Wizard.

Things are pretty crazy in South Town right now as we are scrambling getting ready for Dumb Fest 2, but we are still having a three-band punk show tonight and it is going to be a lot of fun! If you come out at 5:00 pm or later you can help us clean up and move stuff around for Dumb Fest 2. Then at 7:00 pm there is going to be this show happening.

We have the band Hi Ho, Silver Away! coming all the way from California. They are label-mates with Springfield’s very own Hospital Job on It’s Alive Records. You can also check out some of their tunes below. Also on this show is Springfield’s newest rowdy young punk band, Panzys. Be sure to catch them before they blow up big time and move to California. Then for the third band we have the three-piece punk band RDNT. Sounds like a fun night of punk.

Tonight at Dumb Records there is some sort of mega acoustic show happening that has snuck up on us real fast. Hopefully you can all grab your skateboards and head over to Dumb Records tonight for this all-acoustic all-rockin show. Tonight we have the folk punk duo Wilt Candy. If you have not seen them yet go see them. Also on this show is a solo set by Tim Williams of Dumb Fest 2 band Our Lady. There has been another last-minute addition to this show and that is a solo set by Mike Baird. Come to the show to find out what that is all about. The touring acts on this show are Real Live Tigers and Solenodon. Real Live Tigers is from Austin, Texas and played here at Black Sheep about one year ago. Solenodon is from Louisville, Kentucky home of the Kyle Ratliff. You can check out some Real Live Tigers songs below. Opening things up is Austin Connelly who will be playing some acoustic Swamp Rat tunes from the heart.

Tonight! There is a show happening at Black Sheep and it’s our only show this weekend. That means there are no excuses, you all have to come out. Tonight we also have a very special performance by the local rock group Big Storm, who will be playing their very first show this year. The weather forecast shows that there will be a big storm in time for tonights show, so this will be a perfect night. We also have two touring bands on the bill. The first is May The Peace of the Sea Be With You from Arkansas. You can check out some of their music streaming below. Also touring from Arkansas is a band called Monster Heart. We have been told that their music will “challenge your mind and soul.” Kicking things off is Springfield new-and-improved electric rock group War Magic. This will be a great show.

Tonight there is another show! Don’t think that just because it is a Thursday night that it would be a good idea for you to stay home! Tonight we have two touring bands – one from Chicago and one from Canada, so let’s all come out and show our support. First up (or last up) we have My Dad from Chicago. They have played at Black Sheep a couple of times before and you can find their music streaming below. My Dad will be on tour this time with Animal Faces from Toronto. They are another band not to miss. This show will also be the first regular performance by Springfield rock act The Complaint Line. The band did play at Black Sheep as the Pixies during our Black Sheep Cover Show last month. We have another out of town band from Champaign called Acker. They play instrumental indie rock. Topping the show off and opening things up will be a solo performance by Matt Hall of the Jacksonville band Reaching Right.

Hey cool cats and rad rats, come one come all to the cool show we’ll be having this evening! The L.A based punk charmers in Benny the Jet Rodriguez (Recess Records) have honest tunes are unwavering and it’s sure to be an excellent set. Local lovesters in War Magic will be playing tonight too, and the word is they have a new sound so definitely come find out about that. JAG will be performing their strange space-punk tunes as well as travelling band 2194, who will be bringing their spooky jams here all the way from another place in the country.

Check out this all local crud-fest we have going on tonight, it’ll really make you hurl chunks. The filthsters Asthma are going to remind you just how dirty you really are. Then, Akaname will majestically take the stage in a fit of classy skanking rage and then frolic away. Swamp Rat will ground you and make your bones wiggle and shake. Panzys reportedly will make you crave dog salad. For those of you who don’t know what that is, come find out! It may be vegan. Last but not least, new pop band King Worm will be taking the stage. May satan have mercy on our souls.
