hiphopshowtest

Wow, thanks to all who came out last night making it the biggest show we’ve put on at the new space so far! We are keeping the excitement rolling tonight with another all-local bill, this time it’s our second ever hip hop show! There are six acts performing tonight from the area. At the top of the bill is Meezy Killafield, who has been making a splash as a rapper from our area recently. He released an album – “The Killafield Chronicles” within this past year. Also on this show is DreTheGuy aka “DeAndre”, another hip hop artist who has performed at The Radon Lounge and also recently Rock N’ Roll Hardee’s. He just dropped an album called “Lapis Effect” just a few weeks ago. Then we got 4usten… what’s up with the “A” in this guy’s name being a “4”? Come to the show and find out. For some of his set he will be joined by Brayden Schmohe. Pictured on the flier and also playing from Decatur is the rap duo “WeBackSoon Music Group“. You can also find them streaming on the player below. Also is more of an R&B act called “Torch_Nation“, familiar to a number of the Dumb Records and Black Sheep open mics. Great to finally get him on a show! Opening things up is A Da Real, another young up and coming artist we are pretty sure from Springfield High School. Nice.

Tonight we are saying doors are at 7:00 pm and we are starting things at 7:30 pm. Admission is $5. Check out a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a good list at what else is coming up at Dumb Bread in the near future.

Tonight! We have another show going on! This one is starting a little bit later than usual – kicking off at 8:00 pm so that we don’t overlap too much with John Moreland performing at the last Levitt AMP Music Series concert at the Y-Block of this summer tonight. That one starts at 6:00 pm and goes until 8:30 pm, so you can make it to both shows! At our space it’s just a three band show tonight, highly recommended. We have two touring acts from Minnesota. The first of which is “Greentop” playing some indie/alternative music that you can find streaming on the player below. Greentop will be touring with solo act Wyatt Moran who is also from Rochester, Minnesota. Then of course there’s Bottom Bracket, who will be going either first or last on the lineup, we are not sure.

Again, this show starts at 8:00 pm that night and admission is $6. Check out a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a good look at what else is coming up at Bread Sheep in the near future!!

We have two shows these next couple of nights going on at our space!! Don’t miss ’em! Tonight, for this show we have the band “Crafter” coming all the way from Massachusetts. Stream their music on the player below. Final Order from right here in Springfield will also be playing this show. ALSO on this show is a band called Soul Craft from St. Louis. Soul Craft features members of old Champaign/Urbana hardcore band Commodity that were around in the late 2000’s / early 2010’s that none of you probably remember. Opening things up is the new Springfield hardcore band everyone has been talking about, “Black Box.”

This one starts at 7:00 pm and only costs $5. You just can’t beat that. Check out a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our Bread Sheep shows page to see what else is coming up at our spot this summer right here.

We’ve got a heavy one lined up tonight at the ol’ Bread Slammers! Tonight is going to be the tape release show for newer local hardcore band Prevention! It’s also the return of Transgression from Louisville, Kentucky – a band that performed twice at Black Sheep before, the last time was a crushing set during Dumb Fest 6 last year. Stream Transgression’s newest album on the player below. There are a total of three out of town acts tonight! The other two includes a band called “156/Silence” from Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. They play heavy music. The one other band is called “Gumm” from Tennessee. So there you have it, bands tonight from Illinois, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. That’s four states. Opening things up is the infamous local goof-off band, Prowess!

Tonight things are actually starting later than normal at 8:00 – we pushed back the start time to not conflict with the Levitt AMP concert going on but now it looks like that concert has been pushed back a little bit because of the heat!! Great! Still, we will be starting things right at 8:00 pm tonight, and admission is $7. Find a facebook event for tonight’s show right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page to see what else is coming up at Kevin Breadford’s Cafe.

Here we are at the end of our run of three shows back-to-back-to-back at Bread Sheep this weekend with this good psychedelic/folk show happening tonight. It features touring artist Tim Buchanan – who was actually a member of Oklahoma hardcore band American Hate who had played Black Sheep a few times. Tim’s solo material is nothing like American Hate, and you can stream it on the player below. Also on this show is psychedelic rock group “The Dixie Narcos” from Jacksonville, that rarely ever play live. What a treat to have them on. Then also there is a newer group from some town we know nothing about called Canton, Illinois. The band is “Father Talljasper” and they also play some indie rock stuff. Opening things up is local solo acoustic artist Adam Maletich.

Check out a facebook event for this one right here. Admission is $6.00 this time around and things kick off at 7:00 pm. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a look at what else is coming up at Bread Sheep.

Happy Friday everyone, T.G.I.F.! We are right in the middle of a three day show back-to-back-to-back streak with a very solid indie rock show happening tonight. This show features full band “Kate The Band” – you know it’s good based on these two songs we streamed on our site last month. The touring act on this bill is “Best Sleep” from Fort Wayne, Indiana. You can stream their music on the player embedded below. Then we have the first “Bread Sheep” performance of Peoria and Springfield based emo band Sadface Killer. They are a good band and released their debut full length album Domino Line earlier this year. Opening things up is the local solo project – Flunkie.

This show will start at 7:00 pm regular showtime and admission is $5. Check out a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a good look at what else is coming up at Bread Sheep in the near future.

Last night was amazing! Our most well-attended show at the new location so far! We are keeping the ball rolling with another solid show lined up tonight! Come out out! Tonight we have the mighty return of the mighty might band Jocko from Ohmaha, Nebraska. Jocko played here last at Black Sheep the first night of Dumb Fest 6 for those of you who were around for that a little over one year ago at this point. Stream some of Jocko’s music on the player below if you are unfamiliar. Also on this show is Final Order. Right in the middle we have a curveball and that is local hip hop act Animals With Human Names, playing his first show at Bread Stretchers 2.0. Then we’ve got St. Louis area hardcore group Brute Force coming back to play the Bread Stretch for yet another time. Opening things up is another little curveball with the *chill* solo project of Vincent Sebastian.

Tonight!: a brand new lineup full band version of Looming is taking the stage for the first time in a while. Wow! There are two touring acts from Michigan on this show. One of them is Great Expectations from Detroit, playing some emo type music that you can find on the player below. They will be on tour with another band called Seaholm from Ann Arbor. Opening this show up is a slow performance by Blue Parks, who may be going by the performance name of Body Forth.

This show starts at 7:00 pm and admission is going to be a sliding scale of $5-10. You can check out a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our Bread Stretchers shows page for a good look at what else is coming up at the show space next to us.

There is a show going on at Bread Sheep tonight! It’s our only one we’ve got lined up this weekend so be sure to come out tonight and enjoy the pure music. Tonight is going to be the LP release (yes, a vinyl record) of local group Local Drags who have not performed in Springfield very often if even at all. It’s good though – someone is pressing their album on to wax so it’s gotta be good. Stream that new album on that player below. This show is also going to be good because it’s got heavy hitters Bottom Bracket on board. And we’ve also got a rare Attic Salt performance – another band who has yet to play in the new space. That’s it! It’s just a three band show now.

This show starts at 7:00 pm and admission is $5. Check out a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our Bread Stretch Record Sheep’s shows page for a look at what is coming up in this space next door to us that we don’t have anything to do with.
