We have a slight change-up to a show coming up on Thursday, November 7th that you all should know about! The show was originally supposed to feature Caterpillar Club, but they will be no longer playing. All of you Caterpillar Club fans shouldn’t worry! They will be playing the next show at Black Sheep on Saturday, November 2nd. Instead of Caterpillar Club, solo acoustic act Paqui will now be playing the show on November 7th. Hopefully his set doesn’t get taken over by Table Drama this time. The show will also feature Missouri shoegaze band Cantalouper (music below) and also Springfield two-piece band Mystery Gift.

Show announcement for November! This one is happening on Friday, November 15th at Black Sheep and it is going to be a swell punk rock show. This show features Springfield’s own The Timmys. They will be fueling the circle pits at maximum power at the end of the night. Then we have The Rackatees coming all the way from Pratt, Kansas (pictured above). If you want to hear what they sound like you can check out the bandcamp player embedded below. Next up we have the return of St. Louis, Missouri’s Haddonfields. The Haddonfields played at Black Sheep last when we had our punk rock cookout in June. First but not least we have a band called Guy Morgan and the FT Crew coming from Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Come on time so you can see them.

This show tonight is going to be raw. Champaign based Doomsayer will be playing some hardcore, blackened metal. They feature a member of Rvins and will most likely knock our socks off with their rad metal power. We’ll also be seeing Purgatory, a heavy metal band from Lincoln. This metallic hardcore set is sure to be black so make sure to check them out and mosh your wits away! Gutterpriest is another set we’ll be seeing this evening, which features Dogfood of Execution Techniques. He’ll be giving us some entrancingly deliberate noisecore definitely stick around. Bo Mellado of Mildred and Meredosia will also be gracing us with his talents tonight, so as you can see this show is going to rule.

December shows are now showing their faces! There’s going to be one on the 8th of December and it’s going to be full of acoustic goodness to warm us from the cold. Brandon Carnes, who is also in Big Storm, The Timmys and Looming, will be playing 666 devil worshiping musik. Michael Tietjen, also in the band Family Lumber, is travelling solo at this time and so he will be giving us some swell acoustic tunes to enjoy. He is pictured above and some of his full band’s music is on the player embedded below. Jess Knight of Looming and Mother Leopard will be singing great songs and playing guitar for us. It’s gonna be great, and Austin Connelly is performing too! He’ll be playing music and he’ll either think about telling bad jokes or he’ll actually tell them. Only time will tell, so come out to this show and make sure to wear your hip winter clothes, even though we should hopefully have a super rad heating system in place by then.

Check it out, there’s a show coming up at Poon Lagoon with a killer lineup. Local pop-punk and well-loved band Hospital Job will be playing their rad, feel-good tunes. Big Storm will be performing their upbeat, powerpop songs to lift the spirits of the downtrodden. The Timmys will also be playing their super-swell punk stuff and they’re surely going to give a good set. Also, Brooklyn artist Nathan Leigh will be producing some rad folk-punk sounds, so check out this awesome show at Poon Lagoon!

It’s already time to start thinking of November shows here at Black Sheep and today we are bringing you news of a nice and sweet three-band show happening on Thursday, November 7th. Don’t you just love three band shows? This show will feature the shoegaze band Cantalouper from Columbia, Missouri. You can check out some of Cantalouper’s music embedded on the player below. This show will also feature Springfield shoegaze/sludge project Caterpillar Club, which features members of Soap Scum and Our Lady. They might have a release planned soon, so be on the lookout for some new songs. Opening things up we have a newer Springfield band called Mystery Gift, which features members of the bands Mildred and Meredosia.

Uh oh! We have a last minute show coming up in just one week! We need your help to make sure the show goes over well! That means all you Black Sheep ladies, gents, and aliens need to come out to this show on Thursday, October 10th. This show will feature the punk band Triple Stitch from somewhere in Minnesota. We also have Peoria ska band Must Build Jacuzzi playing this show. Must Build Jacuzzi last played Black Sheep this past April. Also playing this show is local acoustic project Good Times! It’s the first day of October and we have a spooky October show announcement! This stacked show is happening on Saturday October 19th at Black Sheep and it is sure to be a great time with some great local bands. For this show we have the two-piece hard rock band Yogi Beara. We also have another great two-piece band, Mystery Gift who recently played a show at Black Sheep this past Sunday. Mixing things up and bringing the feel good rock n’ roll will be Big Storm. This show will also feature a newish pop-punk band from the Amish town of Arthur, Illinois called Old Fox Road. You can check out some of their music on the player embedded below. Opening things up is Paqui, who will be taking us on some sort of an acoustic adventure!
