May 21st at Black Sheep: The Convalescence, Skyosis, Eminent Slaughter, Caecus

This show will be sure to be heavier than you can imagine. We have The Convalescence on tour from Toledo, Ohio. They have played at Black Sheep before in recent times, but this time The Convalescence will feature hometown hero Blake Perry formerly of Kharybdis. Don’t miss this touring band now with our former Springfield music scene guitarist and supporter. Also on tour with The Convalescence is Skyosis also from Ohio. This show will also feature the Champaign death metal band Eminent Slaughter. Then we have another Champaign act called Caecus, and they play progressive deathcore.

June 4th at Black Sheep: Benny The Jet Rodriguez, War Magic, JAG

On Wednesday, June 4th we have this nice summer treat of a show happening at Black Sheep. If you like the summer then you’ll like this show. We have the band Benny The Jet Rodriguez coming all the way from Los Angeles. Benny The Jet Rodriguez is a newer band on popular punk/indie label Recess Records. You can check out some of their music below. This show may be the first Black Sheep performance for the full-rock-band version of everyone’s favorite dream poppers, War Magic. We are keeping this one a short and sweet at three bands. The third band on the bill will be the tricksy and alternative pop band JAG. Yeah, yeah yeah it’s going to be great.

June 28th at Black Sheep: The Complaint Line, Acker, My Dad, Animal Faces, Reaching Right

Look at this cool show happening on Thursday, June 5th! This one will feature three touring bands and two locals. For this show we have Springfield rock band The Complaint Line. That name might sound familiar because The Complaint Line will be playing the Black Sheep Cover Show on May 16th as The Pixies. Also on this show we have the experimental band Acker from Champaign. Then we have the band My Dad (pictured above). My Dad are no strangers to Black Sheep, they have played here two times before in the past couple of years. You may have noticed that sometimes they bring an extra drummer or two. My Dad will be on tour with Canadian band Animal Faces. You can check out some music from Animal Faces below. To round things off we have the Jacksonville pop-punk band Reaching Right playing this show.

May 9th at Black Sheep: Mouthsex, Q, Yatagarasu, Femoral, Aporia

Hey hey we have a show coming up real quick here on Friday, May 9th to tell you about today. This show is sure to be a real blast. It features the newer Springfield slimepunk band Mouthsex, who recently released their first demo. This show will also feature newer band from St. Louis called “Q“. You can check out their “demQ” streaming on the player below. Then there are a couple of touring bands on the bill. We have the weirdo Texas band Yatagarasu. They will be out on tour with other Texas punk band, Femoral. Opening things up is a very rare performance by the out of control Springfield harsh noise project Aporia.

May 17th at The Radon Lounge: Kansas Bible Company, Looming, Derrick Streibig

It’s been a little while since The Radon Lounge have had a show in their basement venue, and we are excited to tell you about this little return-show for them happening next month! The Radon Lounge hosted a show at Black Sheep earlier this month for King of Prussia and Case Conrad and it was a great success. This show is happening on Saturday, May 17th. This show will feature the 12-person project Kansas Bible Company from Nashville, Tennessee. Find their music streaming below. This show will be the first ever Radon performance by the Springfield indie pop band Looming, who play Black Sheep pretty frequently. This show will also feature a performance by solo musician Derrick Streibig from Girard, Illinois.

June 26th at Black Sheep: Kittyhawk, Looming, Nectar, Colonel, Honeysuck

We are coming back at ya with ANOTHER post-Dumb Fest show announcement today. This time it is for a show happening on Thursday, June 26th. This show will feature Chicago band Kittyhawk, who have had music released by Champaign label Skeletal Lightning. You can find some of their music streaming below. This will also be a show for Springfield indie pop favorites Looming. Then we have a couple of other touring acts! This show will be a show for a new Champaign band called Nectar, featuring Kamila Glowacki of Kowabunga! Kid and other bands. Nectar will be on tour with Colonel, an acoustic act from Champaign. To top that all off we have a touch of Honey Suck added to the mix.

Today we have one of our fist show announcements for a show that will be post-Dumb Fest 2. It will surely be a heavy one. This show is happening on Wednesday, June 18th. It will feature the band Seraphim (pictured above) from Mississippi. They play experimental stoner metal and you can check out some of their tunes below. This show will also be a tour kickoff show for newer Chicago punk band Anomaly. We also have their music streaming below. Then get ready because Springfield heavy shoegaze band Caterpillar Club will also be playing. Also playing is Peoria stoner metal project Dirt Wizard. The icing on the pie for this one will be the new Springfield sludgy hardcore band Swamp Rat.

May 3rd at Black Sheep: Table Drama, Orator, Airacobra, Witchweed, Animus

On Saturday, May 3rd (which is coming up very fast) we have a very heavy show happening at Black Sheep. It looks like Springfield’s biggest villains Table Drama are returning from a little bit of a hiatus. Will they be back with some tricks up their sleeves? You might just have to go and find out. This show will also feature Champaign/Urbana sludgy band Orator. You can check out some of their music below. Then we have the Central-Illinois based scary rock band Airacobra. If that’s not enough for you, we have the Taylorville stoner and Sabbath-like rock band Witchweed (pictured above). Opening things up is a newer band from the Central Illinois areas called Animus.

May 31st at Black Sheep: Asthma, Akaname, Swamp Rat, Panzys, King Worm

Today we are bringing you a show announcement for a show happening at Black Sheep later in May featuring a stacked lineup of Springfield bands that have all formed this year (2014). This is happening on Saturday, May 31st and will highlight the Springfield band Renaissance that we seem to be currently going through in this day and age. On this show we have Asthma, the new hardcore band that played their first show on January of this year. We then have Akaname, the new ska band featuring members of Lovecow and other bands. Then we have Swamp Rat, the new Springfield sludge band (pictured above, music below). Also on the bill is Panzys, another brand new and very young punk band. And opening things up is a brand new project called King Worm, who will be playing their very first show as a band. This will surely be a show not to miss.

Hey! Looks like we have a happy May show announcement for you all. This one is happening on Friday, May 2nd. This show will feature the Champaign indie-pop band The 92’s. You can check out some of their music below. Then we have a newer band from the area called Blind Social. They say they play “alternative funky psychodelic blues punk?” Up next is a power pop band from Peoria called The Black Roses. Come check out what they are all about. Before that we have the return of Schnozzberry Jam to Black Sheep. They are a newer band featuring members of Negative 17. This show will kick off with a performance by Jake McCandless.
