Looks like today we have a last minute show to announce- and this one is happening this upcoming Wednesday, June 3rd. This show will feature two touring bands from Indiana and one local. For one of the two touring bands we have the Indianappolis screamo band Tantive IV (pictured above). You might remember Tantive IV playing a South Town Studio show earlier this year. Tantive IV will be coming with another Indy band called “The Creative.” You can check out some of The Creative’s music streaming below. The one local on the show right now is the screamo/hardcore band WARRS, who just recently released their seven-track demo and will possibly have it out on cassette for this show.

Here on Friday, July 10th we have a five band show at Black Sheep with some good old fashioned pop punk and punk music. For this show we have the Springfield band Hospital Job playing some of your favorite pop punk hits. We also have the touring band “Broadside” coming from Richmond, Virginia. Check out some of Broadside’s music streaming below. On tour with Broadside is a band called “Old Again” from Central Florida. They play more pop punk. Then from nearby we have the Alton, Illinois shoegazey band called Lifewithout. Opening things up we have a performance by the local band “The Locals.”

Our summer show announcements are starting to pour in over here at Black Sheep, and there are shows happening all of the time! This show will be happening on Wednesday, July 8th at Black Sheep. Right now the lineup for this show is just a short three band show! The show will feature the pop punk band from The Quad Cities, Iowa called The Easy Mark. The Easy Mark features members of the band Genovia Forever, who are playing day 2 of Dumb Fest 3-D. Check out some of The Easy Mark’s music streaming below. Also playing this show is the local Springfield punk band- Panzys! And first up on the lineup we have a first ever performance by another new Springfield band. Make sure to come out to this show to catch the new band and the touring act.

Looks like today we are bringing you news of the first show happening at Black Sheep directly after Dumb Fest (which is just 18 days away) on Tuesday, June 16th. This show will be a metal show featuring some metal bands who have recently played at Black Sheep including The Convalescence from Toledo, Ohio, who played last month back in April. We also have the local metalcore band Kharybdis. You can check out the lyric video for their song “Bloodmoon” below. Before that is the band Noesis playing progressive metalcore from Central Illinois, and before that is Abyss playing metalcore from the Athens area. To top it off we have the Central Illinois deathcore band Hollowed Eyes.

After a week of blacksheepspringfield.com taking a break from updates we are back! We want to thank everyone who came out to the Black Sheep Cover Show last night- we will post an update later today of exactly how much was raised. Today we have news of an all local show happening on Friday, June 5th. This show will feature three bands all from Springfield. This includes the solo project of Brandon Carnes, “F///\\\M.” Stream some of F///\\\M’s music below. Also on the show is the three-piece rock group, Blind Social. And opening things up we have the punk band Panzys.

Coming up on Friday, May 22nd (wow that’s less than two weeks!) we have a good old fashioned punk rock show. This show will feature The Timmys, and also their last Springfield show will long time bassist Brandon Carnes. Come out and circle pit and have a good time! Stream some of The Timmys’ music below. We also have the punk rock band Dirty Rotten Revenge coming from Bloomington, Illinois. Up before that is the hectic punk band Say Something. And opening things up is a solo acoustic performance by Paqui!

Coming up on Friday, June 19th at Black Sheep we have another metal show lined up for you all. This show features Central Illinois progressive metalcore band Noesis, who have played the past few metal shows that have been hosted at Black Sheep. Next on the lineup we have Abyss, the alternative metal band also from around in Central Illinois. This will be Abyss’s first show at Black Sheep this year. Up before them is a deathcore band from Wood River, Illinois called “Blue Skies Beneath Black.” And the fourth and final band on the bill is “A Beginning’s End” playing metal from the St. Louis area.

Looks like on Friday, May 29th we have a pretty nice rock & roll/punk show happening at Black Sheep. This show will be the final date for a tour with two Chicago-based rock bands In Exhile, and The Howl. Both bands have played at Black Sheep a number of times in the past- let’s come out and show them a good time once again! In Exhile is pictured above, and you may remember them playing at Black Sheep this past October. The Howl is a garage/punk rock band and you can stream some of their music below if you are unfamiliar with their tunes. Also playing this show is Space Alpacas, who might also be calling themselves “Swordless Mimetown?” Come to the show and find out what the band’s name truly is. And if all that is not enough for you, looks like this show also includes a solo set by the legendary Nighthawk.

Coming up here at Black Sheep on Tuesday, May 26th we have a show announcement. You might recall back in January and February when Springfield band Our Lady went out on the road with No Sleep Records band Aviator from Boston, MA. Springfield was not a stop for Aviator on that tour, but it looks like they will be coming here and playing with Our Lady on May 26th! Stream some of Aviator’s music below if you are unfamiliar with the band. This show will be those two bands and also a solo set by Jessica Knight.
