Time for another April show announcement! This one is happening on Wednesday, April 13th and it will be a rocker. We have the band Violence Creeps coming all the way from Oakland, California for this one. You can check out some of their music streaming on the player below. How neat. Also Livin’ Thing will be playing this show, we hear it will be the release show for their debut cassette and they will be kicking off a little 5-day tour. Opening things up for now is Springfield hardcore band Pryss, keep your eyes peeled for a possible fourth band added to the lineup!

Like we said earlier, the April show announcements are going to start rolling in pretty hard! Tonight we have an announcement for a show happening here on Saturday, April 9th. For this show we have local emo band Wir Können headlining the bill. The touring band on the bill is called The American Jobs. You can stream some of their music below, they come from Columbus, Ohio. Also on this show we have the avant-guard explosion noise band known as TANG. And opening things up we have a solo acoustic set of Paqui, who also plays in TANG. DANG.

What a neat flier for a neat show happening here at Black Sheep on Sunday, April 3rd. Fair warning: the April show announcement are going to start rolling in REAL hard. Prepare yourselves for possibly our busiest month we’ve ever had to date! This one features the band Leggy from Cincinnati, Ohio. You can stream some of their music on the player below. It also features the new Springfield all-femme groove band Shark Week. Also on the show is Arc Flash from Kansas, who will be on tour with the band Leggy. Opening things up we have a solo set by Nick Murphy of the bands Garter and Moondead.

This show coming up in just twelve days at Black Sheep on Sunday, March 27th is going to be a huge one. It’s also happening on Easter day, how about that! Easter is not going to stop us from coming out to this one though, it is looking like it is the last Looming Springfield show for while, at least until August. The band is going through some changes due to members moving and while they will remain active, we might see less live shows at Black Sheep in the future. Also playing this show is Springfield heavy hitting band Our Lady, making an incredible lineup. We also have a few touring bands on the bill. The first of which is Hodera coming all the way from New Jersey. Stream some of their music on the player below. On a separate tour and coming from a different end of the punk scene we have Dry Heave– closing up their big spring break tour. They just recently put out a new tape on Springfield-based label Ooey Gooey. Opening things up we have a solo set by Isaac Arms from Champaign of the band Withershins.

We have a show coming up very quick in just ten days for Our Lady‘s return from SXSW on Friday, March 18th. To follow up really quick on Our Lady’s GoFundMe Campaign- the band was successful in reaching their goal and it looks like they will be getting their van fixed in time! As a result the band has put their new song “Circle Around My Neck” up for free on their bandcamp page, which you can find right here and also streaming below. Our Lady will be heading out on the road with the band Lume who are an emo band from Chicago, and will also be playing this show at Black Sheep. Also on the bill is Champaign emo/post-rock band Kreylboyne who are no strangers to Black Sheep. And we have another band on the bill – Hate Your Friends who are touring out from Denton Texas, and feature members of bands who have also played here at Black Sheep before.

Here’s something a little bit new happening at Black Sheep next month! On Saturday, April 2nd we will be hosting an “Ambient Blast,” or a show where all ambient / noise / drone solo artists will be performing. For this show we have solo performer Eric Marvel on the bill. Also Kenyon Deshasier will be performing, who has performed at Black Sheep before back for a show in November of 2014 if anybody possibly remembers that. We have another familiar act- Pretend I’m Not There which is the solo project of BJ Pearce of many bands from the area. Then we have Timothy Donavan Russell, solo ambient artist. You can stream some of Timothy’s music on the player below.

We have a show coming up on Sunday, March 13th that we are a little late to the game on announcing! Hopefully that doesn’t stop you from coming out though, because it’s going to be a good one. This show will be the end of a four or five day run for Central Illinois bands Lavender and Old Fox Road. The two will be heading out on the road together and ending the run with this show at Black Sheep. Stream some of Old Fox Road’s music below. Old Fox Road also recently recorded in South Town Studio behind Black Sheep. Also on this show we have the surf-rock Springfield band, The Suction Cups. And opening things up looks like we have the hardcore/emo band Undeserving from Bloomington/Normal.

It’s getting harder and harder for us to keep up with all of these March show announcements! It seems like there is more than one popping up a day at this point! This show is happening on Saturday, March 12th. This show will feature Springfield emo rockers Wir Können (how nice). The one out of town band we have on this bill is the band Fourside from Bloomington/Normal. You can stream one of their tracks on the player below. We also have the three-piece newer Springfield punk band Moondead, which features members of previous bands Bad Banshee, Garter, and Wilt Candy. There sure are a lot of shows being lined up at Black Sheep this spring. We are starting to overflow and burst at the seams! This is a show happening here on Saturday, March 5th. It is going to be a hoot. For this show we have Indianapolis based band Mr. Clit & The Pink Cigarettes who are no strangers to Black Sheep or Springfield in general. The band brings that rock n’ roll goodness that you all crave with that tinge of punk and bright hair coloring. Check out some of their music streaming below. We also have their good friends and Springfield experimental rock band Boon on the bill. Before that is something interesting and that is Slave Cable- a newer St. Louis noise project featuring members of Animal Teeth. Opening things up for the night we have the wild and reckless noise band TANG.
