There just so happens to be no shows at Black Sheep this upcoming weekend – however we do have shows coming up this next Monday and Tuesday – this one being Monday July 2nd and featuring a band coming all the way from Australia. How cool! That band is Soakie – punk band from Melbourne, Australia and you can find their music streaming on the player below. We also have another touring band on the bill and that is the fast and angry Gassed from Lexington, Kentucky – who last played in Springfield as part of Dumb Fest 4-ever a couple of years back. Both of those bands will be joined by local support from No Cash Value and Foam Fangers.

This show will start at 7:00 pm and admission is $6. Check out a facebook event for the show right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a look at what else is coming up at Black Sheep in the near future.

We’ve got a bit of a last minute whopper of an emo show coming up on Tuesday, July 3rd featuring a very stacked lineup of bands. We are excited to welcome back Dowsing – playing for the first time at Black Sheep for the first time since Dumb Fest 3-D back in 2015. The band has picked up quite the following since they started, and you can stream some of their music on the player below. This time around Dowsing will be on tour with another heavy-hitting emo band – Dikembe from Gainesville, Florida. For locals on the bill we have Jessica Knight of Looming performing a solo set. We also have a new Decatur-based hip hop project called “Chocolate In Your Pocket“, which should be interesting! Opening things up is Marble Teeth, also from Decatur.

This show will start at 7:00 pm and admission is $7. You can find a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a look at what else is coming up at Black Sheep this summer.

This will be the third show in our streak of shows coming up this weekend, happening this upcoming Sunday, June 24th. It’s another one being put together by The Telephone Junkies, who just performed this past Monday, for some touring acts out of town. (Yes, The Telephone Junkies will be playing this show as well). This one is for Providence, Rhode Island indie-rock group “Dogs on Shady Lane“. You can stream some of their music on the player below. The other out of town act is a group called “Johnnycatland” from Oak Park, Illinois up north, also described as indie-rock. Opening things up is local solo musician Mike Butler, formerly of the band Vonne.

This show starts on Sunday at 7:00 pm. Admission is $5. You can find a facebook event for the show right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page – which is actually really updated this time!

We have something a little bit different coming up at Black Sheep this Saturday, June 23rd. We are handing over the reigns to M22TV and HISO Music for a night (yes, it says “Fest” on the flier but oh no we can not handle another full on fest right now)!!! This will be a hip hop show of sorts featuring what looks like five different artists. At the top of the bill we have “VINNY“, ~YT~, and M-22 all of which we are unable to find anything about online, and all of which are new to the Black Sheep stage! You can find a snippet of music and a new album teaser for M-22 on facebook right here. Come out to this show for a chance to hear the album in full. There’s also an artist from Farmington, Illinois – Jordan Chance. Also there is one full band that has been described to us as indie-rock, they are called Topical! and are from Macomb, Illinois. From our understanding opening things up is an artist familiar to the Black Sheep stage – Animals With Human Names (even though he is not listed on the flier).

This show kicks off at 7:00 pm on Saturday, admission is $5. Find a facebook event for the show right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a look at what else is coming up at Black Sheep this summer.

We have a full lineup of shows this upcoming weekend and we are now ready to start telling you all about them! That starts with a show coming up this Friday – on Friday, June 22nd (in just two days). We’ll come back to you with B.B.’s big tour dates in another post. This show features plenty of friends of the band- including the Alton, Illinois band Reaver. Stream some of Reaver’s newest music on the player embedded below. We also have the Taylorville alternative rock band we have not seen in a minute on the bill – Stick People. How nice! At the beginning of the lineup we have Oversleeping from the St. Louis area. And also a solo performance by Hannah Songer as “HECK“.

All of that starts this Friday at 7:00 pm. Admission for this show is $6. Find a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a look at what else is coming up at Black Sheep this summer.

Thanks to all who came out to Black Sheep and Dumb Records yesterday in support of our “Collision #2” art show! We love hosting events that are different than the standard 3-5 band Black Sheep rock show, and we have even more of those different shows coming up – like this one this upcoming Friday, May 13th. This is going to be an interesting night because we have a Central Illinois-based comedy/improv group called “The Zoo” coming to perform inside Black Sheep. We are not exactly sure what to expect, so we are all in for a wild ride together! In addition to The Zoo we have a normal number of performing acts as well. This includes local singer/songwriter from the heart Alec James. Also local solo performer Whitney Devine. Then a new solo act from Pawnee Illinois who has not yet played at Black Sheep – Dexter Anodyne. Opening things up we have a performance by none other than local hip hop project Animals With Human Names! Stream the newest tape release by A.W.H.N. on the player below.

This starts this Friday at Black Sheep at 7:00 pm. Admission is $7. Check out a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a list of upcoming shows at Black Sheep this summer.
