Wow! It looks like somehow we weren’t paying attention and Taylorville-based alternative rock group Stick People have dropped a brand new ten-track full length album! That album is called Mondoduke and it is the band’s first propper full length, after they released their Lips EP all the way back in 2017 now. You can find Mondoduke streaming on the player below, also find it on Spotify right here or on Apple Music right here. You can also purchase the download of the album on bandcamp right here. This album was recorded and mixed by Kevin Carman who is also a new addition to the band since their previous release.

Here’s some music news that isn’t exactly local music news anymore – the solo artist “Flunkie” is formerly from Springfield but recently re-located to the Chicago area. This week she has debuted her newest release, Pure Optimist, 8 tracks and looks like there is a physical format for this one of some pretty nifty looking cassettes. Happy Mothers Day everyone. Today we bring you some more new local music during these times of quarantine from another local solo project. That is yet another album by Tin Ghost, the solo project of Mark Schwartz, who also performs in End Times Trio, and has other projects by the names of Demons on Wheels, and Forrest Saints, and his latest release was just a solo album, Mark Schwartz on Guitar. This new Tin Ghost album is called Galleons of Time and it is a whopping 19 tracks. This time, solo ambient / electronic project Imaginary Colours is at it again with another release. This one is called HEAD_SPACE and it is six tracks that you can find streaming on the player below. This time Mark is just releasing a full album under his own name! Who’d of thought! This album is just called Mark Schwartz on Guitar and it’s pretty much just exactly that! Springfield recording project “Forest Saints” is BACK with a massive twenty-track album! The album is entitled Backyard Twilight Symphony and you can stream it on the player below. The psychedelic/experimental recording project of Mark Schwartz (also of End Times Trio, Demons on Wheels, and Tin Ghost) now has a whopping ELEVEN albums released on bandcamp, with the previous release being the nearly two-hour long The Book of Descents & Ascensions released last year.

There are no live shows for Forest Saints lined up. We are adding this one to our Springfield album archive page, bringing us to eight releases that we have had listed so far this year.

Today, or late last night, local Springfield solo artist Ty Witty released a new acoustic seven-track album called Embers. As far as we know the release is only available on Apple Music right now, which you can check out right here. The release will possibly be available on other streaming platforms later on.

Ty Witty is featured on the cover of this month’s issue of Activator Magazine, which includes a full interview about the new album and more. There are no live performances lined up that we know of. Ty released another album, For When It Rains last year. We’ve also added this one to our Springfield album archive, bringing us to a total of 502 releases.

Today we bring you another local release we are a little late to the game to – this one came out late at the end of last year in December. Thanks to Ken No of Hiphophumpday killing it in the review section of Activator Magazine, we are able to get the latest on local hip hop releases that we may have otherwise missed! This is the latest from local rapper Sensai Doog. Sensai Doog came out with a full length album in December called Live 4rm The Zoo II. You can stream some of that on the Youtube player below. Find the full album streaming on Youtube right here. You can also find it online at CD Baby and Deezer.

Sensai Doog released an album prior to this one called Blood Eagle back in 2018. We are also adding this one to last year for our Springfield album archive page… which brings us to 500 releases total!?!?
