State Journal Register: “Dumb Fest Portraits”

Did you think that newspaper article today was good? Well, guess what? There’s more! If you were at day two of Dumb Fest this summer there is a good chance you may have been pulled aside by a photographer to have your picture taken. This was for a different type of series being done by Ted Schurter of The State Journal Register called “Dumb Fest Portraits.” You can find a few of those pictures below, or head here to the State Journal Register website to view the complete gallery. There is also a gallery of brand new Dumb Fest photos on sj-r.com that can be seen right here. But wait! There’s more! You can find a beautiful audio gallery of photos and short interviews taken during Dumb Fest right here. Want to see all the photos from Dumb Fest? We have pulled them all together on our Dumb Fest set on flickr. There are still more coming in too!

Photos: Skeletal Lightning Fest

This past weekend Skeletal Lightning Fest happened in Champaign (put on by the Skeletal Lightning Label). The Fest was a success, and Springfield band Our Lady took the stage with many other bands including Into It. Over It., Anodes, Alta, Hank, Easter, and many others. From the Skeletal Lightning Fest facebook:

Holy cow, what a weekend! Big thanks go out to EVERY single band that played, EVERY single attendee that showed up, cared, and had fun, ALL of my friends that helped me with EVERYTHING over the past 9 months, and EVERYONE in the Midwestern scene. YOU all make it what it is, and it is certainly something special. This is why we celebrate. This is why we rule. You all are wonderful! See you next year! 😉

You can check out some pictures and videos from the fest below.

Photos From 3/11 at Black Sheep: Teenage Bottlerocket, The Timmys, Hospital Job

We all had a blast at the Teenage Bottlerocket/Timmys/Hospital Job show that was a little over a week ago. Off With Their Heads had to drop the show but they have promised us that they will be back sometime in the future. It was the biggest turnout we have had for a show since Black Sheep Fest 2012 last summer! There are a few pictures that we have gathered together from the show, some of which you can check out below. To see more pictures from the night and other photos of bands playing Black Sheep you can head over to our “bands” album on our flickr. And if you have any more photos from the night send them to us at blacksheepspringfield@gmail.com!
