Tonight at Black Sheep: The Timmys, Better Days, The Oswalds, Mystery Gift

ton

Hey fine folks check it out, there’s gonna be a fun show tonight at the sheep! Bring your sunglasses to watch the uncool dudes in the rad band The Timmys. They’re gonna fill your ears with years of rocky asphalt punker jams. Then the folks in D.I.Y punk band Better Days are coming down from St. Louis to give us some hardcore melodic sass, so don’t forget to wig out. The Oswalds are going to be playing too this evening. Inspired by only the most classic of punk, this local set will refresh your earhairs for sure. Then to put the wax back in those suckers will be Mystery Gift, another local band inspired by video games and cloud sitting.

Come out! Tonight! 7pm! It’ll be fun! Bring some money – $5 to be specific- so the power doesn’t go out.  Check out DumbRex too and for more information on this show you can view the facebook page right here. Also, here are some other shows coming up.

Montagh at Dumb on 2/28 (Video)

The show on the 28th was really cool, being inside of Dumb Records, and full of acoustic sets. Well, someone (someone awesome) decided to record a piece of Montagh‘s set, and the result was really awesome! Even better, someone posted the video onto Youtube, so we can all stare at its wonderfully shot video, and listen to Montagh. Montagh is a wonderful folk punk band from Springfield (If you haven’t heard them before, make sure to do so, and watch this video!). The chill video is below!

April 14th at Black Sheep: King Of Prussia, Case Conrad, Meredosia, Full Chroma

414Look at this! We have a great show coming up in the wonderful month of April. This time we have King Of Prussia (Kindercare Records) and Sweden’s own Case Conrad. This show brings the dangerously 90s pop sounds of King Of Prussia (not real kings, I asked) and Case Conrad’s take dream pop, and gets all mixed up with locals Meredosia and Full Chroma.

The show will be starting at 7pm and will cost $5. You can find more info for the show on it’s Facebook Event Page. Looking for more shows to check out? Here’s the link!

Los Injectors Reunion

los injectorsLadies, gents and its, it looks like the local psycho/rockabilly band Los Injectors is reuniting after being apart for some time. Originally, they were founded in 1999 and now this trio is BACK to bring us more hard rock tunes (with an upright bass included). So check out one of their videos here and stay tuned for possible shows they may have coming up within the confines of the many venues we have here in Springfield. (To see other springfield shows happening, check this page out too).

We are excited to announce that on Wednesday, April 9th we will be hosting a show for the singer/songwriter Koji from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Koji has released music through Run For Cover Records and No Sleep Records. He is also an activist and founded the organization “Colormake” as a collaborative effort between artists and activists from all over the country. Koji described this tour:

For this tour, I’ll be taping shows at alternative spaces and independent venues for the second installment of my Spring Song live series. I’ll be supporting my first full length Crooked In My Mind which came out on Run For Cover last April. Additionally, I’ll be promoting the first vinyl pressings of both Spring Song Volume 1 and Some Small Way EP. This will be the first KOJI solo tour of the states since last winter’s Acoustic Basement tour with Geoff Rickly and Vinnie Caruana.

You can find some of Koji’s music streaming below.  Koji will be touring with A.N. Palamara, who is another singer/songwriter from North Adams, Massachusetts. There will also be a performance at this show by local emo/hardcore band Our Lady. Opening things up is the newer Springfield acoustic project called Rella.

This show will be another 7:00 pm, $5 show. You can find a facebook event for this right here. Also be sure to check out what else we have coming up at Black Sheep this spring by looking at our shows page.

Tonight at Black Sheep: Montagh, Good Times, Old Fox Road, Devin Williams, Honey/Suck

blahnblahlbagh

Welcome to Friday, we’ve got a show at Black Sheep tonight! Montagh will be playing, which is some fresh wheat midwest folk coming straight from the streets of Springfield. To continue the night we’ll have Good Times coming around again! The last time he played for us was way back in October so now is your chance to come hear these acoustic indie-movie lounge tunes. Also playing tonight will be our Santa loving friends in Old Fox Road. These fellas will definitely give us some down-home, feel-good, pop-folk songs to enjoy with some charismatic vocals to tie their whole set up, so come check them out if you didn’t get to catch them at the Radon Lounge a few months ago. To round off the evening will be Devin Williams! He’s from Florida and will have some cool reggae bluesy jams to give to us, so definitely check that out as well, holmes.

This show is TONIGHT. Here is the facebook event. Come at 7pm, bring $5 bux and do not forget to check out Dumb Records! Tonight is going to be an acoustic show and it’s cold out, so there is a good chance that this show will be getting moved to Dumb Records. Here are some other cool shows we have coming up so keep your eyes peeled for the ones that catch your fancy.

Tonight at Black Sheep: Repo Man Screening with Worms, Mystery Gift, Suprise band

repoCheck it out for tonight: we’ve got not only a few cool bands playing, there’s ALSO going to be a screening of the movie Repo Man playing this evening. As Mikey T. puts it, “Dumb young LA punk becomes repo man. Mysterious car kills cop. Stuff happens.” So if you haven’t seen it, that’s what that movie is about and it’s going to be pretty fresh. We’ll also be featuring the local love-bird band Worms, who will be play some midwest raw-folk tunes. The punkers in Mystery Gift will have some questionable video game inspired jams to play. Then make sure to stick around because a SUPRISE NEW PUNK BAND will be making their way into the thrill of the night. Their set should be cool so come out, watch this movie and listen to these bands!

This whole ordeal starts at 6:30 for real. Bring snax and trading cards, bring $5 and wear your Sunday best. Here’s the facebook event. Come to more Black Sheep shows and save the drama for the fashion scene.

March 3rd at Black Sheep: Polyphony, Kharybdis, Animus, The Science Of

8752864750_9bf48fe27c_bWe have a show announcement for a show happening on Monday, March 3rd! It’s going to be a fun Monday night and a mixed genre show. This show will feature the touring band called Polyphony from Maplewood, New Jersey. They are pictured above and you can find some of their tunes streaming below. Also playing this show is the newer Springfield metal band, Kharybdis! Then there will be another newer metal band from Taylorville called Animus playing. We do not know much about that one. Then to top that all off we have a pinch of The Science Of from Rochester. They have a few shows coming up at Black Sheep, including the one tonight with Ultra Bidé.

This show will be at 7:00 pm and $5, like most shows. There is no facebook event or flier right now, sorry. You can check our upcoming shows page for a look at everything coming up at Black Sheep this spring.
