Today we are bringing you a show announcement for this show happening about two months from now on Thursday, May 22nd (hopefully there’s no snow on the ground then). For this show we have the return of Carnivores At Grace from Chicago. They played at Black Sheep last month along with Ultra Bide, which was a really fun show.  Carnivores of Grace will be coming around this time on tour with Lifer, a post-hardcore band from Florida. You can check out a few of Lifers tunes on the player embedded below. This show will also a feature a separate touring band, and that is the punk rock legends The Butts, who are formerly from Carlinville, Illinois and used to play here frequently. We also have a few local bands. There will be a performance by the weird-rock band Epsom which will sure to get you moving. Then we have the younger punks RDNT that will be sure to also rowdy up the crowd.

We got this wonderful mixed show full of surprises happening on Saturday, May 10th to tell you about today. This will be an all-local and all-fun show. We have the band Worms playing. You can check out some of their music streaming on the player below. Next up it’s the post-rock/experimental band Naughtalus! We also have the acoustic/folk-punk project Old Fox Road playing. Come see what they are all about. Then there will be a first ever performance by a new Springfield band called “Anti-Scurvvy”! We have been told that this band features members of Naughtalus. To top that all off there will be a performance by the newer Springfield metal band Kharybdis.

This show will start at 6:30 pm and admission is FREE! That’s right, now you have no excuse not to come to this show. This will also be a birthday celebration of some sort. We’re going to have some cool shows coming up in April, and this one on April 4th will be peachy keen because there are some cool bands scheduled to play that night. Boon is a local alternative band with some super fine, technical jams full of genuine things They don’t come around much, so this will be a real treat to see them play live since they haven’t played a show since around last summer! Also playing this show is Panzys, which is a brand new band from the local area and their fresh sounds are sure to be enjoyable. New bands are priceless so never judge them or take them for granted, give them some support and dance your socks off to their fine rock n roll tunes! Another new band called Akaname will be playing this show and with them they will bring some exciting ska tunes, so let’s get rude and ready for their spooky and groovin banshee jams. The last act we have on this bill is Mystery Gift, local cyber dream indie crud goodness. They’ll really make you remember why you love what you love and you know, this is going to be a really swell show.

The April show announcements here at blacksheepspringfield.com are beginning to roll in and we are excited for the weather to be warmer in Southtown. Today we are telling you about some sort of mixed genre/hip hop show happening at Black Sheep on Saturday, April 5th. This will be another Cooshit “Superdooperdopedank” Show, brought to you by the rapper and clothing company Cooshit. We have some of Cooshit’s music streaming below. Also on this show are your least favorite Springfield band, Table Drama. They will be causing trouble and throwing curveballs at this hip hop show. Other than those two, there will also be a performance by Springfield rapper Habilis Riccardo. That will surely be fun. We have also been informed that there will be live music from Mista W, Blak Manta, and more. The night is sure to be filled some dooper dope dank rhythms and times.

Our March show announcements keep coming in. It is looking like March is going to be full of great shows at Black Sheep and this one on Wednesday, March 12th is no exception. We have the band Runaway Brother coming from Cleveland Ohio. They are pictured above and you can find some of their music streaming below. Runaway Brother will be on tour with The Ground Is Lava, who are also from Ohio. They play emo-type music. This show will also feature a new Champaign band called Slam Dinner. We have been told that this band features one member of Springfield mysterious punk band Soap Scum. Also on this show will be Springfield all-star pop rockers that you know and love, Looming!

Ready for another great March show announcement? Here we go! On Wednesday, March 26th we will be hosting a show that will be packed with all the ska and punk that you can handle! Time to pick it up! This show will feature Stuck Lucky from Nashville, Tennessee. They play punk rock with trombone. The last time Stuck Lucky played our venue was seven years ago in 2007. You can check out some of their music streaming on the player embedded below! Also playing this show is hardcore punk madness Say Something. They will be bringing the circle pits hard. Then we have Muldoon’s Clever Girls from Iowa. They are a two piece bass+drums project that played at Black Sheep a little last minute as a part of The End Is Here Fest last year. You don’t want to miss them. To top this show off, this will be the very first performance by a brand new Springfield ska band called Akaname. You can check out their brand new hit single “Bird Girl” right here.

Here we are back again today with another March show announcement! This one is for Thursday, March 20th. We’ve got Souls from Rapid City, South Dakota coming in to play in our town. You can check out some of their music streaming on the player embedded below. Also playing this show is Central Illinois post-hardcore stars Loses The Mighty. They will also be playing at Black Sheep this Saturday night. Also on this show is new Springfield metal band Kharybdis. We recently put up a new band page for them on our site, which you can go check out right here. This show will also feature the very first show of some sort of new project called “John Wayne Knockout Punch.” We are very interested to see what that is all about, and you should be too!

On Monday, March 17th there will be a show at Black Sheep where we will be welcoming back the touring band Remiss from Cedar Falls, Iowa. Remiss played Black Sheep back in July. They play shoegaze/emo type stuff and you can check out their music streaming below. Also on this show we have Hyoshi, which is a new solo ambient project from Peoria. Right now that is all that is on the show, but be on the lookout for more announced bands later on!
