November 2nd at Black Sheep: Set Fire To Salem, Reap And Sow, Noesis, Vacant Skies

We have a show happening at Black Sheep on Monday, November 2nd! Pretty cool! This show is looking like a pretty solid lineup of a metal show. We have the newer Springfield metal band, Set Fire To Salem. They will be joined by a band touring from Virginia called Reap And Sow (formerly Endeavor). You can stream some of Reap And Sow’s music on the player below. Also on the show is Central Illinois-based metalcore group Noesis, who also just played at Black Sheep last night. Then kicking things off we have another Springfield metal band, Vacant Skies.

November 14th at Black Sheep: Mary & The Immaculate Rejections, SAP, Los Injectors, Rotten Monster

We have a show coming up in about a month here at Black Sheep that will be a release show for not one, but TWO bands! This show will be happening on Saturday, November 14th. It will be an EP release show for the band Mary & The Immaculate Rejections based out of Downers Grove, Illinois. This will also be a release show for the local band SAP, who will be releasing a split cassette with the band Person based out of Chicago. Also playing the show is long-running Springfield rockabilly/punk band Los Injectors. Stream one of their tracks on the player embedded below. Opening things up is a performance by a hard rock band called Rotten Monster based out of Springfield and Havana. Should be a fun time!

November 3rd at Black Sheep: Catholic Werewolves, Like… With Jetpacks, Garter, Say Something

Time for another November show announcement! This one is happening on Tuesday, November 3rd. For this show we have the Iowa pop punk/emo group Catholic Werewolves– featuring members of Genovia Forever and The Easy Mark who have played here at Black Sheep in the past. You can stream an acoustic demo of Catholic Werewolves’ music below. Also on this show we have the local video game-themed instrumental project called “Like… With Jetpacks“. And we also have the power groove punk band Garter, who just played here at Black Sheep last night. To top it off we have hectic hardcore/punk band Say Something, who also played at Black Sheep last night.

December 9th at Black Sheep: ACxDC, Sunlight’s Bane, Table Drama, Lowered A.D., GUSH

It’s October! And now we have a crazy grind/metal show to announce happening at Black Sheep on Wednesday, December 9th. This show will be a big one, featuring the band “ACxDC” (anti-christ demoncore) from California. If you are unfamiliar with ACxDC you can stream some of their music below. ACxDC will be on tour with Sunlight’s Bane from Michigan. This show also has a few surprises! It looks like local wrestling-themed hardcore/grind band Table Drama will be coming back from the dead for this show! Who knows what they have up their sleeves this time. We also have the extremely heavy metal/hardcore band Lowered A.D. coming up from Carbondale for this show. Opening things ups is the newer Springfield hardcore band GUSH.

October 19th at Black Sheep: SAP, Prude Boys, The Brainstems, Space Alpacas

Today we have a show announcement for a rockin’ show happening here at Black Sheep on Monday, October 19th! This show will be a good time and will feature the three-piece indie/grunge band SAP (flier above by Clare Frachey of SAP). Then coming on tour from Hamtramck, Michigan is the band Prude Boys. You can check out some of Prude Boys’s music streaming on the player below. Also on this show from out of town is the band Brainstems from St. Louis – featuring at least one member of Lumpy & The Dumpers. Then opening things up is wacky rock band Space Alpacas from right here in Springfield.

October 23rd at Black Sheep: Sirens, The Fine Constant, Kharybdis, Portals, Noesis, A Sight Unseen

Get ready for the next big metal show at Black Sheep, this one is happening on Friday, October 23rd. This show will feature the band Sirens from Indiana, who also played here at Black Sheep back in April. Also on tour with Sirens this time around is a band called The Fine Constant from Wisconsin. You can stream some of their music on the player below. We have a pretty stacked lineup other than those two touring bands too. We have local metalcore act Kharybdis. There will also be Central Illinois “down tempo” metal band Portals. Then we have Noesis, who has played here a number of times before, and another band called “A Sight Unseen” from Bloomington.

October 18th at Black Sheep: New Heart, Ice Hockey, NoxThanks, Diaper Rash, Orator

Get ready for our second show announcement of the night! This one is happening also in October, on Sunday, October 18th. This show will feature Indiana band on tour New Heart. New Heart has played here back in July of last summer. Also on tour and on this show is Ice Hockey from Quad Cities, Iowa. You might remember Ice Hockey from day 1 of Dumb Fest 3-D earlier this summer. The third touring band on this bill is a band called “NoxThanks” from Oklahoma. You can check out some of their music streaming on the player below. Then up before them we have the wild and crazy hardcore baby-band, Diaper Rash from right here in Springfield. And kicking things off we have the heavy sludge band Orator from Champaign/Urbana.

October 16th at Black Sheep: Arlin Peebles, Yairms, Alhhla, Animals With Human Names

We have a show announcement here for a show happening exactly one month from today on Friday, October 16th! This show could be described as for more of the fans of “indie-rock.” We have the local solo acoustic artist Arlin Peebles, who recently released a new solo record on LP (available inside Dumb Records). The touring bands on this show are Yairms and Alhhla. You can stream both of their musics off of a split release streaming below. Yairms plays a type of experimental pop and Alhhla is experimental looping noises. Opening things up for this show is a new local project called Animals With Human Names. Make sure to come out early to catch what that is all about!

September 30th at Black Sheep: Tinderbox Circus Sideshow, GUSH, Diaper Rash

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any weirder this fall, today we are announcing that we have a literal circus coming to Black Sheep on Wednesday, September 30th. That’s right, the Tinderbox Circus Sideshow is a traveling circus based out of Kentucky and you can catch them here at Black Sheep on September 30th. Their act includes The Human Blockhead, Glass Walking, the Bed of Nails, Fire Eating, The Human Pincushions, The Human Crazy Straw, Body Piercing Weight Lifting, Balancing on Wine Glasses, Straight-Jacket Escapes & More! This sounds like something not to miss! On top of that we will also have a performance by the local hardcore band, GUSH and also the out of control baby band, Diaper Rash! September 27th at Black Sheep: Jessica Knight, Patrick Russell, Nick Murphy, Kristin Walker, Clare Frachey, Quincy Curran

On Sunday, September 27th we have quite the show that is being called “The End of The World Acoustic Show” because it’s the end of the world and something to do with solar eclipses. There is quite the lineup of acoustic performers for this show. We have Jessica Knight of the band Looming doing a solo set. Before that is Patrick Russell, who does not play in any bands currently, but is one of the ones behind The Legacy Theater in town, and also used to play in Springfield band “I,Riejah” which played at Skank Skates in the 1990’s. Before Patrick is Nick Murphy of bands Fel Fae and Garter. Before Nick is a solo set by Kristin Walker formerly of Bad Banshee. Then is a set by Clare Frachey of SAP. And kicking things off is a set by Quincy Curran of the band Mystery Gift.
