Of course many of you may know that we have some exciting and new things happening at Black Sheep this weekend. We will be hosting the first ever theater performance inside of our venue, with “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf” being performed four times over the course of tonight, Saturday, and Sunday. The cast for this new play is shown above. The play is being put together by a brand new group in town called “The People’s Absurdist Theatre Troup.” We have two or three of them coming in on The Black Sheep Radio Show today to talk to us about what exactly will be going down at Black Sheep this weekend and what their new group is all about.

We actually have a VERY new and exciting episode of The Black Sheep Radio Show lined up today! We have a very special guest! It’s a special episode! This episode is special because we have Nereida and Bob Littrell coming in, who happen to run the very interesting Springfield Illinois Music History page on facebook. The page has been constantly wow-ing us with photos and videos of Springfield bands from as far back as the 1930’s, including much of the 1960’s, 1970’s, and 1980’s. Nereida and Bob will be coming in to talk to us about the project, and we will likely be talking about plenty of bands from our town’s past. We also have quite the playlist lined up, mostly of music from Springfield bands of the past. You can pretty much expect most of it to be from ten years ago and earlier. So buckle your seat belts in this afternoon and get ready to learn!

With Dumb Fest being right upon us, and us missing the past couple of weeks, The Black Sheep Radio Show has something very special in store for you all today. Denice has a lot of big things going on this hot hot weekend, including a car show Saturday and of course a show day 3 of Dumb Fest this Sunday featuring the popular garage rock band Nobunny. We’ll be talking to Denice about the history of Rock N’ Roll Hardee’s and more.

Today we will be talking to Betsy about the fest and playing music from some of the bands performing. In addition to that we will be playing music from other local bands and also band that will be coming to town, and will be talking about everything coming up this crazy busy spring/summer in Springfield!

We are on to the fifth episode of our third season of The Black Sheep Radio Show since Brandon Carnes has left us. This episode we are going to ease back into the swing of things with a special guest and that is none other than original long time Black Sheep owner Kevin Bradford himself (pictured above to the right). Kevin will be in talking about what he is doing now since his departure from Black Sheep one year ago and also will be talking to us about his band Caterpillar Club‘s new hit single they dropped earlier this week. Caterpillar Club will be playing the show at Black Sheep tomorrow night along with Drained, Orator, and Staghorn.

Today we are trying something very new on The Black Sheep Radio Show just for the heck of it. For the first time ever we are actually bringing the show to the Capital Area Career Center where we will be actually be recording the show live. Brian Galecki is going to be hosting this shindig this time around instead of Brandon Carnes, and you can expect to hear a few guests come on. Instead of playing all local music and bands that are coming to town, Dumb Records will be taking over the airwaves this time around and will only be playing vinyl records that you can find for sale in the store.
