Up In Arms & Dog Years Records on Black Sheep Radio Tomorrow

Tomorrow we will be speaking to a few members of the pop punk band Up In Arms, who will also be playing the show at Black Sheep tomorrow night along with Good Luck Varsity, Lovecow, and Yogi Beara. Then we also have Dylan McIntosh of Dog Years Records, which is a small independent record label ran out of Springfield. We get the chance to chat with Dylan about how his label is going and what is in store for Dog Years in the future.

Black Sheep Radio Tomorrow: Scott Blacula

This is because Scott Blacula will be invading the studio and talking to us about their long running feud with Champaign’s wrestle band Dino Bravo. We will also be taking the time to review and analyze the youtube videos both bands made to taunt each other. At some point we also may or may not be making a call to Dino Bravo himself! Both bands will be battling it out over a battle set at Black Sheep this Saturday.

We also have punk rock comedian Brandon Judd coming in for some extra commentary and a little bit of interviewing. We will be talking to Black Sheep owner Kevin Bradford a lot over the course of the two hour show about how his part in the Springfield music scene came to be and the beginnings of the Black Sheep Cafe. Then we will have a change of pace and talk to Bo, Abby, and Quincy of Mildred. We will talk to them about the band and what shows they have coming up (February 2nd and February 9th). In the interview you can hear the band discuss upcoming shows and tours, and the recording of an upcoming album. Black Sheep Radio Tomorrow: Brandon Carnes and Dog of Panic

IMAG0115We have a number of guests coming into the Black Sheep Radio studio tomorrow to talk about local music and upcoming shows! Throughout most of the program we have local musician Brandon Carnes (Big Storm, The Timmys) in to talk about his show tomorrow night (Friday) at Donnie’s Homespun. Brandon will also be performing at least one acoustic song in the studio! We are also joined by a couple of members in the rock band Dog of Panic. They will be talking to us about their show at Black Sheep on Saturday and also their new album they will be releasing on February 9th at Catch 22.

Black Sheep Radio featuring music all local to Springfield will be airing from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on 88.3 fm WQNA. Tune in on your radio or head to www.wqna.org to stream the show when it is time.

The show tonight focuses on your picks for our best of Springfield music 2012 polls. We are featuring songs from the best picked shows, songs, and albums of 2012. We were also  able to fit much more in the two hours we were given! Expect LOTS of music from local bands (if you play in a local band and have recordings there is a good chance you are going to be on the radio) and also some goofy talking bits.
